ive never seen anything that bad but all the deer i shot in NJ were always loaded with ticks on there ears and neck but never really had alot burried into the skin just a lot crawling around on them.

I actually despise ticks more than I do spiders (hard to do)!
That poor deer! I can't even imagine how miserable that had to be for him/her! I am glad it was put out of it's misery, but the worst part is KNOWING he's not the only one out there like that.
I would edit the title of the thread to include "graphic pics" btw... just a common courtesy.

Good grief, just looking at that picture makes my skin crawl.
Everytime I catch a tick on my skin, it drives me crazy for days. I must have some kind of phobia about those filthy saprophytes, because I run the lice comb through my hair about 2-million times, then I'm constantly checking my hair, pawing at my face, imagining that I can feel them crawling up my neck, in my eyebrows, in my clothes. I've even had nightmares where my skin is crawling with them.
For some people it's spiders,bees, worms, bats, rats or mice - for me, it's ticks.
