Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Well, I was working at the shop tonight, and as rifle season opens tomorrow, we were dead slow. So, we pulled up the chairs and started telling lies. :D
Anyway, I hear Easton has totally redone it's arrow line this year. The Excell is gone, as are the ICS Hunters. Now, this is the kicker part.....HALF of the aluminum sizes are no more! The Gamegetter II......gone. Not making it this year at all. I did not hear, however, what they will be introducing. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
dam that means i have to swicth arrows because i use the ics hunters..i wonder why
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
That's what we are most upset about as well. The ICS and the Excel are BY FAR our best selling arrows. We have a lot of folks gonna be upset about that I think.
You remember the rumor a couple months ago how Easton and Goldtip couldn't GET the carbon to make those 2 arrows?? Yeah, right......can't get the carbon.....that's a good one!! Those guys knew they weren't gonna make them this year so when they ran out, they thought up that story!! Marketing.....you gotta love it. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
yeah man i hate that.....the bow shop that i go to over here in san antonio has the ics and those are the most selling there too and now there no longer making them..man that ticks me off..[:@].....well they better comeout with a better arrow for around the same price if they are goin to do that
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
I have no idea about the rumor but, I do know marketing. If your not 1 or 2 in the biz, look else where!
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Buy what you can afford to now and stock up for years to come;).
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
I agree with Rickmur if this is true buy a crap load now and have them for years to come or switch to new arrows
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
It wouldn't suprise me that much, espeically the alluminum rumors.
Yeah, Easton has some loyal customers when it comes to their alluminum line, but I doubt that they pull in enough cash from them every year to continue producing them. As for the Excell and the ICS, that wouldn't really suprise me either. Sounds like Easton's way of pushing their customers more towards the ST/HIT style arrows. Limit what the customers can buy and they'll switch to the newer style arrows. Makes sense to me. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
As long as they make the ACC's, I'm happy.:)
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
as long as they make axis FMJs i am happy lol but i was about to go get some alums for my old bear go figure
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Hmm, no more ICS?
I've been reluctant to switch, but now it may be a forced move. If I go skinny I will be forced to stay with drop aways, that is my only real concern about making the change thus far. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
That's totally crazy!!! [&:][:@]
They can't do away with ICS arrows. They are one of the most popular ones out there! Same with the classic GameGetter aluminums. They have been making them for probably 30 years! I might end up having to stockpile some Beman ICS Hunter 340's then (since Easton owns Beman). Butch A. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
alot of people us aluminums for target.. lets not forget
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
I was eyeballingthe Easton/Beman charts a while back and the ICS blacks seemed to be in a weight class of their own (GPI).
If we are forced to switch our arrows will most likely gain weight unless we go with the excells. |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Has anyone talked to the company? Maybe it is only a rumor. Lots of things get said on many bulletin boards, but got to determine rumor or real before anyone gets upset, etc, etc.
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
I may be able to shed some light on this. I was at the shop I help out at part-time today and had my first look at the Easton and Beaman 2007 catalogs and all of the shafts including the ICS's are still in the catalogs. Now what I did notice was that it appears that Easton has scaled back the number of spine sizes they will be carrying this year. But don't worry all of the more common ones are there, and they will still be making the gamegetters.
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Thanks PA.....that's a compeletly different story than what our rep told us, but I'm glad you saw them in the catalog. That makes me feel some better.
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Mobowhntr I wonder sometimes about sales reps[8D]. I saw it with my own 2 eyes. All the shafts are there. Just seems like a reduction in the number of aluminum spine sizes.

RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
But don't worry all of the more common ones are there, and they will still be making the gamegetters. BTW: I love your cable guy quote. - He's a funny man!:D |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
BobCo I think your right. I don't remember seeing the green gamegetters, But the camo Gamegetter II were still there. I can't remember everything they had in the catalog but they still had plenty of choices in aluminum. I do know they got rid of sizes like the 1918. It seems like they only have 3-4 choices in each spine grouping. Most of them it is just 3.
Yeah Larry is great isn't he. I'm probably the only person in the country that thought his movie was worth going to see. I just thought that quote sums it up perfectly |
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
As long as Easton continues to make the ACC's and the FMJ's I'll be a happy man.
|
RE: Anyone heard this Easton rumor yet?
Axis, Axis, Axis!!!!
