Default Dove Hunting Ban Passed in Michigan

I'm glad the anti's wasted so much time and money on this one.

Just incase folks aren't up on the info a group set out to ban hunting doves in Michigan. Their ultimate goal is to ban all hunting in Michigan. They decided to start with Doves.

Tom

I made a correction to this post. It did pass and dove hunting is banned. Sorry about the confusion.

Actually now I'm not 100% sure if it went the way I think it was supposed to. Can anyone else confirm this?

Actually it was the exact opposite it passed. Damn I'm pissed! No I didn't vote. I had to work late.

I thought the proposal read in the opposite direction.

Sorry about that guys.

Guys we had not had Dove hunting for 99 years, it is hard to changed folks minds on this!

I come from hunting family, to convince most of them to whack a dove was hard.

I try to tell folks to vote for choice. This is not a great victory for the anti's. We were trying to be able to hunt doves, we really did not lose anything.

It wasn't really about dove's it's about hunting all together .
Now they have an open door to put more restrections and more bans on all hunting from small game to duck and who knows what else.
Those anti's and peta groups will continue to try anything possiable .

No we've always had this ban on dove hunting. It's not putting any new restrictions on us. The proposal was to allow dove hunting in michigan and it didn't pass, so nothing changed.

I followed this for a long time and can shed some light on it. Everyone reading on this forum lost a little something, somewhere, sometime, somehow. What happened was HSUS dumped tons of money in a battle they felt they could buy/win. It all started w/ posted copies of ads HSUS ran for "paid Volunteers" [yeah, I know] to get 200,000 signatures on petitions to get it on the ballot. That was followed by numerous radio and TV ads due to their [HSUS] deep pockets.

Next on their agenda will be trapping and sooner or later archery hunting. By the time any one group realizes the're next, as a HSUS tatget it's almost too late. I'm not going to bore you w/ a list of their successes, just visit their web site and see what you are/will be dealing with.
