Bought A Bowtech..........I think
Hey all,
I was wondering if someone could help identify a bow I bought at a garage sale this last weekend. It has no markings on it what so ever except for a serial number on the right side of the riser just below the rest. It looks like a Bowtech/Diamond line bow but I can't quite seem to find the model. It looks very close to a Diamond Rapture except for the grip this bow has a very nice laminated wood grip where the Rapture has a plastic grip. Also the riser has different cut outs than the Diamond but it is the same riser. I will try to attach some photos, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. If no one can help me here I will try to contact Bowtech with the serial number. ![]() |

im pretty sure its a diamond

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
Well, there are many characteristics of a bowtech but im not sure. The limbs look like bowtech limbs and they have the bowtech dampening system on the string and limbs, but the riser and grip look like no bowtech ive seen. The cams also dont look like bowtech cams. Im not really sure what bow it is though.

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
Another funny thing about it is that it is dipped in ATHD and not Mossy Oak like most of the diamond line bows. It shoots like a dream, very quiet.

Sorry, I'm too poor to know anything about those fancy named bows!:D Do you mind if I ask what you picked it up for though?

It looks like the infinity cam but the top idler cam has a design I've never seen. I'm pretty sure it's part of the diamond line.
Kinda looks like an older bowtech I had...Bowtech Stalker but with a different riser ![]() |

I did some digging and it sure looks ALOT like the Diamond Rapture only with a different grip, riser and cam cut outs and film dipping. Other than that the specs are very very close. Leading-off the new Diamond Archery line-up, the new Rapture epitomizes the Diamond Bow concept with it's exceptional quality and superior value. With a retail price under $400, no other bow in it's class comes close to matching the performance and sophistication of the Diamond Rapture. Totally reengineered with Bowtech's leading-edge technologies, the Rapture features blistering speed with virtually zero recoil. Bowhunters are competition shooters alike are sure to love the Rapture's compact lightweight design, it's forgiving shooting characteristics, it's rock-solid back wall, comfortable grip, and the crisp high-definition New Break-Up camo finish. IBO Speed: 300 fps Axle to Axle: 33" Draw Lengths: 26-31" Brace Height: 7.5" Peak Draw Weights: 50, 60, 70 Mass Weight: 3 lbs., 6 oz. Eccentrics: Solitaire Single Cam Finish: New Mossy Oak Break Up Warranty: Lifetime* M.S.R.P.: $399.00 ![]() |

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
It does look like a Bowtech/Diamond. You can buy wooden grips for the Diamond bows so maybe someone did that?
|
RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
I bought a factory wooden grip for my Diamond and it doesn't look anything like that.
|
RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
How come I never come across a deal like that. Always happens to someone else.[:@] Congrats on One heck of a deal.

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
I bought a factory wood handle for my Diamond and it doesn't look anything like that. EDIT: How did that happen?

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
It is one of a line of bows manufactured by Bowtech specifically for Gander Mountain and can only be bought there at a retail location. It is VERY similar to the diamonds, however has a different grip. Great bow if your on a budget.

I called Bowtech and gave them the serial number and it came back as a 2006 Techunter bow made by Bowtech for Gander Mountain. They said that it is based on the Rapture (same IBO etc...) but with slightly different riser cuts, cam cuts and finish and the main difference the wood grip. It uses the Bowtech Solitaire cam and itretails for the same amout ($399.00) All in all I am happy with this find. |

A $400 bow for $65, makes you wonder if it wasn't stolen.
Hope it wasn't, and hope you have fun with it. |
RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think
I don't know what you guys are talking about....that bow is obviously a crossbow.
I also can't believe someone would sell a 2006 model bow for 65 dollars. |
