Bought A Bowtech..........I think

Hey all,

I was wondering if someone could help identify a bow I bought at a garage sale this last weekend. It has no markings on it what so ever except for a serial number on the right side of the riser just below the rest.

It looks like a Bowtech/Diamond line bow but I can't quite seem to find the model. It looks very close to a Diamond Rapture except for the grip this bow has a very nice laminated wood grip where the Rapture has a plastic grip. Also the riser has different cut outs than the Diamond but it is the same riser.

I will try to attach some photos, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. If no one can help me here I will try to contact Bowtech with the serial number.

Well, there are many characteristics of a bowtech but im not sure. The limbs look like bowtech limbs and they have the bowtech dampening system on the string and limbs, but the riser and grip look like no bowtech ive seen. The cams also dont look like bowtech cams. Im not really sure what bow it is though.

Another funny thing about it is that it is dipped in ATHD and not Mossy Oak like most of the diamond line bows. It shoots like a dream, very quiet.

Sorry, I'm too poor to know anything about those fancy named bows!:D Do you mind if I ask what you picked it up for though?

See I think that the lower cam gives it away. With that type of draw stop, itis without a doubt a bowtech cam.

The guy was asking $100.00 I walked away, came back in 15min and offered $50.00....we settled on 65$. The draw fits me fine. It measures 31.5in 70lbs

It looks like the infinity cam but the top idler cam has a design I've never seen. I'm pretty sure it's part of the diamond line.

Kinda looks like an older bowtech I had...Bowtech Stalker but with a different riser

It does look like a Bowtech/Diamond. You can buy wooden grips for the Diamond bows so maybe someone did that?

RE: Bought A Bowtech..........I think

I bought a factory wooden grip for my Diamond and it doesn't look anything like that.

It is one of a line of bows manufactured by Bowtech specifically for Gander Mountain and can only be bought there at a retail location. It is VERY similar to the diamonds, however has a different grip. Great bow if your on a budget.

I was considering getting one of those bows after the season. Do they make one that is comparable to the liberty?

Rick you are correct!!!

I called Bowtech and gave them the serial number and it came back as a 2006 Techunter bow made by Bowtech for Gander Mountain. They said that it is based on the Rapture (same IBO etc...) but with slightly different riser cuts, cam cuts and finish and the main difference the wood grip. It uses the Bowtech Solitaire cam and itretails for the same amout ($399.00)

All in all I am happy with this find.

I can make you feel good about your purchase. I just bought a Diamond Triumph for just under $500.00.

A $400 bow for $65, makes you wonder if it wasn't stolen.
Hope it wasn't, and hope you have fun with it.

I don't know what you guys are talking about....that bow is obviously a crossbow.

I also can't believe someone would sell a 2006 model bow for 65 dollars.

I was wondering the same thing the whole time I was looking at it. I didn't know what the retail value was at the time but I knew it was a newer bow. It wasn't the only stuff he was selling cheap either, he had lots of hunting and fishing gear. I bought some fishingpoles, plugs, broadheads, arrow case, bow caseetc... I spent over $150.00 when it was all said and done.
