The rut is picking up here in wisconsin atleast where I hunt but i dont think it is in full swing yet. Sometimes I see doe following bucks. It could be a high doe to buck ratio and the doe are competing to get the buck.

The bucks around me right now could give a hoot about the does. I've had more does respond to calls and rattling than bucks right now. They are moving, just not responding quite yet.

It seems that the Wisconsin Rut may be running a little behind right now, theres been some chasing in Central Wi but not much, I have a feeling they will be chasing hard come gun season next weekend. I shot this 240lb bruiser last friday nite using the growl. He doesnt look that big but on a state inspected scale that is what he dressed out at.

Nice buck there. And I would have to agree with you that things are running behind. Hopefully everyone who needs to, already got their doe.;)
