Quiver Poll?
Do you hunting with your quiver on or off and what type of quiver do you pefer, detachable or fixed?

RE: Quiver Poll?
It comes off as soon as I get into the stand.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
Same as royak my quiver comes of when I hit the stand.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I strap a Chuck Adams Arrow Holster to my bow and as soon as I get settled in I strap it to my stand.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
Same and Royak and Matthews. The quiver comes off once I get settled in my stand. I, obviously, prefer a detachable quiver. :)
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I couldn't get the fixed Quiver with the carbon arrow attachment! For some reason The shop that I frequent said he couldn't find them!
So I opted for the Kwikee Kwiver and it is removed while in the stand AL |
RE: Quiver Poll?
I remove it as soon as I get it the stand but I do partice a some with in on for just it case.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I perfer a side Quiver & it also comes off when I get to my stand.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I also take my quiver off as soon as I get settled in my stand! I do shoot with a full quiver durning the off season in case I have to. But I prefer to take it off!!
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I hunt with a shoulder slung side quiver (Jack's Archery "Chief"). I leave it on of course for stillhunting, but lay it on the ground when hunkering down in a blind.

RE: Quiver Poll?
i remove it as soon as i sit down.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I prefer an Alpine Soft-Lok and remove as soon as I get set-up.

RE: Quiver Poll?
I use a CAT quiver, Sweetest deal I ever bought. Leaves the bow slim and clean. I like the bow bare. :)

RE: Quiver Poll?
Me too, detachable, off when in the stand, on while on the ground.
...and yes, I practice both ways and have made sure that there is no big difference when getting tuned up. Keep 'em all in the Bull. |
RE: Quiver Poll?
Well I guess I'm in the minority here but I use a fixed quiver designed by Mathews for Mathews bows. I use to use the detachable kind until the quiver fell off of my hook, hit the stand platform and crashed to the ground spooking a nice looking deer. Should I have been more carefull? - absolutely - Will it happen again? - Nope.

RE: Quiver Poll?
thats the second thing i do when i get in stand nock and arrow then take off my quiver

RE: Quiver Poll?
Cat Quiver I for me too.......pack in in on my climber then wear it to climb......it then gets hung on a hook with a strap running thru the bars putting it tight to the tree. Plus it has a roomy gear bag that I can put my rangefinder, headlamp, drag, knife etc in so I don't need an extra fanny, backpack.

RE: Quiver Poll?
For years now I've used a detachable quiver on my bow. I've tried 3 models, the Kwikee Kwiver 6, Bohning Guardian and now a Hoyt 4-Arrow Quik Detach. I must say that I've never been satisfied with any of them. The Kwikee was easy to snap on and off but hummed and rattled if I shot with it on. The Bohning was quiet to shoot with, but was h*** to get on and off and it weighed the bow down way to much. The Hoyt is the best of the three, it's light, quiet, and fits my bow nicely, the twist knob attachment is smart but the plastic knob stripped out. I'm thinking of switching to the CatQuiver Mini from Rancho Safari. I figure it can double as a quiver to wear small game hunting too.

Started using an Alpine Soft-Lok 3 this year, I take it off after getting set up. Never used a removeable one til now, really like it.

RE: Quiver Poll?
I use an Alpine Softloc and love it. I bought an extra bracket and put it on my treestand. Once in the stand, I take the quiver off the bow, and put on that one. I don't like the way to bow balances with it on to shoot.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I use a Kwikee detachable Kwiver on my Pearson Stryker bow.Holds 6 arrows but I carry only 4. I shoot with it on the bow. I like the way it balances with the Kwiver on better than without it. I guess I am in the minority on this one in a big way.

RE: Quiver Poll?
I have a Great Northern adjustable 5-arrow quiver that I strap on my longbows and curves.I shoot year-round with it on my bows so I keep it on while hunting.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
neither, I am using a plains indian style quiver
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I went with the 2 pc Mathews quiver on my Legacy and it works great. it has quieted the bow even more then it was before. I will be hunting the week of the 23rd and will field test to make sure.

RE: Quiver Poll?
I'm like muzzyman, I have the extra bracket on my climber and I attach it to the stand while still on the ground-climb with it on the stand. I do this because once my rope wrapped around an arrow and popped one out when I raised my bow up the tree. It works just fine. I also have 2 carabiners zip-tied to the front of my stand that I hook my fanny pack and pull-up rope to when I climb. It makes it easier to pull my legs up as high as I can for climbing.

RE: Quiver Poll?
I have a Cabela's hip quiver. It works pretty well, I don't like the added weight of a bow quiver.

RE: Quiver Poll?
Like bogobble I use the kwikee with the tree caddy. Once Im in my stand I screw the tree caddy into the tree take the quiver off my bow and attach to the tree caddy and I am ready to hunt.
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I only have it on the bow if I still hunting. and I take in off in the tree
|
RE: Quiver Poll?
I use alpine archerys quiver and it comes off as soon as I am set up in the tree. It must be detachable, No fixed ones for me.

RE: Quiver Poll?
Kwikee Kwiver, the 4 arrow mechanical model. I also prefer the quiver off my bow when in stand.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Quiver Poll?
Alpine Soft Loc 5 arrow.
Use 3 arrows (better spacing for my Kurly Vanes. When stand hunting, the quiver comes off...still hunting, it stays on. |
RE: Quiver Poll?
The question is can you shoot with the quiver on ...
If you could why take it off. An if you can't your in trouble. Lets say you sneak up on a bedded buck would you take off your quiver before you shoot??? |
RE: Quiver Poll?
Hello.
well I found a leather hip bracket that you mount a quiver to. so any quiver would do. i have a martin attached to it and thruogh my fanny pack then when i am in the tree i take it off and clip the fanny pack and quiver to the tree where my snacks and arrows are in easy reach... |
