Success!!!

To begin, my digital no longer works, and the head is at the taxidermists for a European mount--my apologies
Anyway, yesterday I went out and planned an all day hunt. I decided to set up in a tree where I saw a large 8pt last year. There were about 10-12 srapes within a 100yd radius. Anyway, I saw 2 doe and a buck about 8am, but nothing else. i decided to move the stand about 100 yards along an area that does travel in the late afternoon. About 2:15, I hear something trotting over the hill about 50 yd from the stand. A doe comes to the crest and then bounds away. I was on alert for a trailing buck. It was not until about 3pm that I hear some rustling. A nice buck comes up at around the same area that the doe did. He starts walking straight in fromt of me--a little too far- 30+ yards. I should say that I sprayde Docs Extreme Heat in a circle about 20 yds around the tree. Anyway, I think he got a whiff of the scent and started to make a turn this time on a line about 20 yds from the stand--right where I sprayed the scent. I could hear him grunting as he started toward me. He gets behind a clump of trees and I draw. It seemed like hours, probably about 30-45 seconds, he walked into my an open space, broadside, maybe slightly quarting away and I let fly. he took off the opposite way from where he was going. All of a sudden about 40 yds away he crashes. I witnessed the whole thing. I get down about 30 minutes later to find the arrow. No arow, but blood everywhere--bright red. I follow a trail that a child could follow, and there he is slumped against a tree.
Some ground shrinkage of the rack, but an acceptable --6-possibly 7 point--he has a broken R brow and a small L that might score a point--at least the taxidermist thinks so. Anyway, this is my second year in a row with a buck, and my third bow kill over all. I couldn't be more happy.
By the way, the entrance hole created by the slick trick was unbelievable--it practicaly sliced the heart in 2, the passed through low on the opposite chest wall. They were worth the wait--but shot placement is the key.
