I feel the same way. If I'm not in the woods 1hr before legal shooting time I usually don't go out. I like to get in early and give things time to settle while its still dark.

I liketo be in place (in stand/blind and ready to shoot)by45 minutes before sunrise, which is about 15 minutes before first light. I definitely want to be in place before sunrise, if I'm hunting morning; I'll definitely bump deer if I'm not.

Most of my stands are right next to bedding areas, so I like to get in my stand about an 45 minutes to an hour before the sun is up. Usually works out for me and lets the woods settle down when the primetime starts.

Always before the sun comes up. There has been plently of times that i've had deer walk around my stand before or during the time the light is just starting to show, that I could only hear. If I hadn't have got there so early, then I most likely would have bumped them.
Can't ever be too early, IMO

no way...I'm in a good 45 min before first light. You need that in order to let the woods settle around you and get the deer coming from night feeding.

I like to be in my stand, all settled in an hour before sun up.
Shooting time is 1/2 before sun up.
That is, unless like the past 2 Sundays in a row, my hunting partner oversleeps making me late to my stand.
If he does it again next weekend I am going to slap him silly
