Massive Rub!
 

Check out this rub on one of my local hunting spots. This tree is gouged all the way around and the highest marks are at about my eye level. As a reference I'm 5'11".

Almost every time we check the rub there's more damage so whoever is doing it keeps coming back for more. I'm hoping to catch up with this buck sometime this weekend. If I can't, I'm at least gonna put my trail cam on it to see who's doing all the damage!

This is the biggest buck we've gotten on camera about 150 yards from where this rub is at. He'd look great on my wall, but I'd like to think there's a bigger buck out there who is making that rub. Dreams of that 200 incher keep me alert when I'm in my stand. :D

I see where it looks like some scars from last year too ,,its what you call a cumunity rub where all the big deer share it,,got to be a big one to tackle that ,,thanks for shareing it and i hope you put your tag on him,make sure we get a picture.. good luck...

I've seen them rub on telephone poles in westernKansas where there isn't much else to rub on, but never on a tree that size. That's got to be one heck of a buck!! I hope you get him.

Definately get the camera on that tree. That particular buck that you have a pic of already doesn't look like the culprit.

You guys in IL got it so good. Not that PA doesn't carry some booners, it's just not the numbers you guys do. A buck like that, rumors would fly and it'd get poached.

Actually there were some Elk released by the DNR back in the late 90's in southern Illinois.

Definitely not a bear or an elk - we don't have any of those here in Northern IL. ;)

There's been a huge, huge Booner spotted the past two years on this farm but we can never seem to catch up with him. No sightings while hunting, nothing on the trail cam either. Those big bucks are a whole different breed of animal, there's no doubt about that. And you can bet your bottom dollar there are guys sneaking onto this farm trying to kill this deer. Lots of shady characters around and more land than a few of us can keep an eye on.

If my damn Cuddeback would work properly it would already be out on this tree. I'm about ready to throw this thing in the creek and go buy something else. [:@]
