Slept in...AGAIN...

Being a school teacher, sleep comes, but not too often. All too frequently I am up late at night, grading papers and creating lesson plans. I have to be up at 5 every morning, and often do no get to bed until after 11 at night.
Well, yesterday my alarm went off at 4, and I couldnt manage to drag myself out of bed. It was too warm, and I was too exhausted. I did manage to get to my stand around 12, and when I did I was pissed, cause there, right in front of my stand at 14 yards were three sets of massive buck tracks, and one large scrape.
So, I tell myself this morning I am going to hunt the trail that led to those scraps.
What happens at 4....the same thing. I wake up, feel totally beat and really tired, so I go back to sleep.
Now, I am totally obsessed with hunting, and want to be in the woods every chance that I get, but lately sleep has been at a premium, so I just cant manage to drag myself out of bed so early. I even had the coffee pot start auto-brewing at 4am, and the smell didnt even phase me as I reached for the alarm-off button.
I love hunting, but I guess I am smart enough to know that during the week sleep does not come all that often, so at least I am dedicated enough to my job to catch up with the shut-eye on the weekends.
Does anyone have any strategies for getting up early, asides from going to be at 9, which I have been doing, and coffee?

Hereis one thing that works for me. I have yet to kill a wall hanger from my bed. If I want him, I need to go visit HIS bedroom.;)

Get out there, tie yourself in, and take a nap, then get awakened by the sound of bucks walking under your stand. That works for me.

I used to do that on occasion as well. What fixed my laziness was getting a hunting partner who either shows up at my house at 5 am or I'm supposed to meet them somewhere.

For me the thought of the hunt is enough to get me up and out of bed ready to go, especially this time of the year! Your not gonna get a wall hanger sleeping. You have the rest of the year to sleep in! Get out there!

Most night before I hunt I usually get about 3hrs of sleep! the thought of that big 10pt walking by and me not being there gets me awake!

You must not love bowhunting as much as you profess;).

I'm not a morning person because of my job and very rarely do I get in the woods before daylight. I prefer evening hunts by far, but all of that just has to change this week. The rut should be starting anytime now and I use that motivation to make myself get up and out. I cannot go to sleep early, tried to, but I just can't. I have one more buck tag remaining and I'd like to fill it with my bow.

The thing to remember is that deer hunting is not a year round sport, when it's here make the time available if you really enjoy it.

I dont have your prob... but I am addicted... usually i cant sleep the night before... to pumped.I get up anddo thework thing starting around 430am... go to bed around 10-1030. When i hunt i have to drive 2 hrs... so i get up around 200-215.I spring out of bed... watch a hunting video before bed to get you excited. or a last resort...
Here is what i would do if in your shoes...
Keep a bottle of buck urine or even coon pee by your bed.. when the alarm goes off open the bottle. If you live with your wife or girlfriend... she will get you out of bed. I am dead serious try it. It will work!Just make sure you dont knock it over though!
Good luck.
