Alright, so this morning I got done hunting and was heading back to the Jeep. I have to walk on a trail right next to this river to get back to it and on the way I glanced over across the river and I see a guy just staring at me and right as I glance over, he quick gets behind a tree with his head barely poking out staring at me. So, I figure I'll pretend like I didn't see him and just see what exactly he's doing. He was staring at me the whole time I was walking back. So I got in the Jeep and started to drive away and I look over and I do not see him anywhere........

Also, he was wearing a black T-SHIRT and neon green SHORTS and it was 25 degrees out and you'd have to walk a ways to get where he was........you'd think he'd be freezing.....

Everything about it was just creeeepy........

HMMMM.... Is there a prison or anything close by? Does sound weird being he was hiding from you and wearing those clothes in that kind of weather. I would have hollared at him to see what he would do and call the police if he ran from you. Just don't sound right.

Nope, no prison around there. The closestone is, I think, 15-20 miles away from where he was and I hadn't seen anything in the paper or news about anyone escaping.

Creepy. I'd stay clear although I'd be curious as heck.
If he was in trouble adn needed help, he wouldn't have hid from you.

The word is that there a growing number of Meth Labs popping up in wooded areas, and that their owners will go far to protect them.
I hope he had a different reason to be there. Can't be anything good.

The deer are getting smart.
I have heard of this around here. Deer go rummaging through you trash, find your old 80's era jogging outfits, as well as tossed Halloween costumes, and dress up like humans.
Really, what you saw was a massive buck, and he didnt want to take any chances. See, his tail was still most likely exposed, and by hiding behind a tree, all you could see what the mask and the bright parts of his outfit.

A while back a friend of mine was in his stand and a guy came walking through the woods with boots on and nothing else, carrying some hand lotion. Thankfully the guy moved out of sight. No lie. He musta been in rut too.

I would report it. That doesnt sound right. And Meth labs are no joke. Boobie traps and guys with nothing to lose by taking you out to save their lab. I would call the local authorities/game warden and have them check it out. Tell them your story and that other hunters in the area could be in danger aswell. better to be safe than dead. These broke dicks are exactly why i carry concealed (legally of course). I would have said something since there was distance. Also... if i wasnt carrying my .40i would have nocked an arrow just in case. Report that idiot.Unless you dont plan on going back there anytime soon.

bro, i almost got killed by three junkies while fishing a creek that was too close, apparently, to a favorite druggie shoot-up spot. if i didnt have my beretta .22, things would have been REAL ugly.... stay away and report it.

Maybe it was possible he had a hunting camp nearby, and was getting some water from the river? Or maybe he was dropped off there by aliens.

A year ago at Ft Bragg I was going through special forces try-outs. I was doing land navigation and it was about 2 am and I strayed off course a good 3 clicks and I thought I heard someone following me. I stopped and bent over to rest my back and I looked up and there was this person staring at me 20 ft away, and I'm in the boonies near aswamp.I know it wasn't any instructors because I wasn't even on the course anymore. I thought maybe meth lab too. I thought I might have a fight to the death with this guy, but I acted like I didn't see him and turned and walked away.

Before I ever finished your post I though "Meth Heads" It is becoming a growing problem here in Oklahoma. They will trespass on other peoples property so that they won't get caught on thier land. From what you described (shorts, cold weather) he wouldn't have noticed the weather if he was all messed up. Also the fact he was hiding from you is suspicous. I think you did the right thing by making him think you didn't see him. I would definately contact local law enforcement and have them check the area out. And I wouldn't go back until I knew everything was on the up and up.

Not trying to be a jerk but that is a good idea, if you are a law enforcement officer. But assuming you are not, it would not be in your best interest to go investigate this situation yourself. It could get you killed(even if you did have a pistol) Or it could lead to you killing someone. Neither of which I am sure you would care too much for. That is why sometimes people end up dead. Because someone tries to be "Johnny Law."

Yeah, I don't think there's a meth lab or anything like that going on there. I was in the spot where he was just a couple weeks earlier and there was nothing but woods and a field there. Plus, he'd have to walk rightby a few people's houses to get there. And this is an active area........there are people walking on the trail I was all the time. With how many people go out there, I especially don't think he'd be doing this on a Saturday at around noon. There are even more people out there than normal now because rifle season opens this Friday so there are tons of people scouting out spots for it. And I got a pretty clear view of him and the surroundings and he didn't have anything with him or anything around him. I'm not sure why he was hiding, but I just have this feeling that it wasn't for anything bad.

Oh and I went back there today(after I read these posts), but don't worry, there were like 8 people on 4-wheelers just behind me. And I took the binoculars and glassed the area he was in and there was nothing there.

me and my gramp were cutting thistles on our farm and found a meth lab on our OWN LAND went striat back to the farm house and called the police

I was hunting back east in the Adirondacks and came across some kid in shorts and a t-shirt way out in the middle of nowhere. I encountered him on a trail. I greeted him as he greeted me, and I became floored when he asked me if I had seen a group of college women close by. I laughed as I walked away from him, thinking that he will have a heck of a time finding a wife out in the middle of nowhere, let alone one with a full set of teeth. Some people do the darnest things.

paranoia taking over...he was probably just a jogger out for a run, saw a hunter and decided to hide behind a tree so he didn't get shot. Why else would someone be wearing flourescent green shorts out in the woods (unless he was a rump rangler)
