to shoot or not 2 shoot?

well my hunting buddy was out the other night sitting in a stand along the river with corn and grass along both sides. To make a long story short he had a huge buck 35 yards away on the other side of the river. I have seen this buck shinning this year and hes huge, main frame 12 and would score over 170. Well he wasnt 4 sure who owned the land on the other side so he didnt shoot. It turns out that we actually have permision to hunt the other side. My question is would you or should he have taken that shot or not?

if i were not sure where the the property line was i would not have taken the shot either. guess your bud will be for sure of his boundaries before he goes back out huntin'!

First of all, you wouldhave to be pretty confident to take a 35 yrd shot. I would say No if you do not have permission to hunt the area. If you do have permission and you arepretty"confident" you could get aGoodhit on him....go for it!

It would be hard to watch him trot away!! He is probably still out there so post them pics after you get him...:)

good luck!

Ditto

I would have to think about that one when the time came. You can say that you wouldnt take the shot, but easier said then done, Especially with that big of a buck. Im not sure what i would do.
