Rob / PA Bowyer,

Norm? Not even close. Hell, I was at half draw on the doe in front of him before I knew he was there. I just got very VERY lucky on this one. I'd never seen him before, he just happened to pick the right trail, and he just happened to turn for the shot.

I should have bought a lottery ticket when I checked him in. For some guys this would be an every year type of buck. For me it was more like once in a life-time. I doubt I'll ever get that lucky again.

How are you keeping his head off the ground in the first one?

Charlie,

That's kind of funny. When we got him back to the house it was dark, so the pictures were taken the next morning. We hoisted him up as high as we could, but his nose was still on the floor. I had to pull his head back to get the 5 gallon bucket under his nose (prevents big messes on the floor). Because of the rack his whole head wouldn't fit in it, so he just stiffened up like that.

When I set him up for the pictures the next morning I had to laugh. He looked like he was just laying around, taking in the view. :)

Mike,

I'm not. Heck, I was about 12" of draw away from shooting the little doe in front of him when I took a second look and saw him coming in. You should have seen the meat on that joker. Talk about a freezer filler!

Besides, just 'cause I'm not a trophy hunter doesn't mean I wasn't gonna give this big dude the &quot;gift of sharpness&quot;. I hunt for meat and all, but I'm not about to pass up a nice set of dragging handles either. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
