If it was always that easy would I still enjoy the challenge? I think not.

Talk about a sausage fest.;)
I need to go there and rattle a little.
Actually, rattling might be dangerous, I might have to pack some heat hunting in that kind of environment.:D

Well, ours is pretty darn close to that.

We've seen about 40 deer this year and only 6 of them were does.

I don't understand it either, but I ain't complainin'!

NE Indiana, Noble County.

We only hunt about 7 acres of woods, overlooking an 8-10 acre set aside field.

If it were always that easy, it would be called deer killing , not deer hunting. I probably would not care to be a part of it. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth ( kinda like that deer hunt video that was posted on here, I think it was Jimmy Houston, hunting in that 2 acre, high fence deer farm ). I mean, where exactly is the sport in that. You might as well have just tied it to a tree.

Most of what draws me to this sport, besides the fine eating, is the idea that I may beat the deer or it may beat me , on any given day. ( But I usually do lose ). That is the sport. And if you can walk to a blind, and take your pic of 50 different bucks, during a 3 hour " hunt " , That is not a sport, and I want no part of it. That is a disgusting abuse of Gods creation.

Be safe and Good luck

No fences = fair chase

God Bless

I would have to agree with Rob... Sounds like a pen to me.

I've had 18 "hunts", this year, so far (morning/evening being broken up into 2 hunts).

I've seen 96 deer......with only 4 of them being antlered deer (that I could discern). I've had 58 of those deer within bow range (which, for me....is really close!). Now....I know I'm seeing a lot of the same does on numerous sittings.....and I also know a lot of these deer have been buttons or spikes that I couldn't discern at (whatever) a distance.....but I think you see that the bucks in my area aren't dummies.

Come late Novemeber.....(or whenever I fill my other buck tag).....there will be a few less does in my woods.

Jeff
