You should only have to replace your peep sight , take your bow to your local pro shop and have look at it .
If they say you need a new string and loop then have them do it but I would look at your string and if it looks frailed then it needs to be replaced as well.

I really don't know I never had to replace mine , talk to your local pro shop I'm sure it wouldn't be more than $30 to $ 50 dollars and there would a fee for his work.
I keep my string waxed every time I use it .

In my case I have the cheap string that came with the bow and it twists. There is a guy on here that sells strings and they are supposed to be the best. Replace the string then while you're at it get a new peep. That should fix it.

I personally don't like that solution either so I'm waiting till next year and I'll get a new string and peep so I am practicing with the same setup come hunting season. I'd hate to change half way through.
