It was better than I could have ask for a first bow kill. I'll post some pics tomorrow! Man I was discouraged this is the confidence boost I needed!! Thanks all you guysfor all the help gettin' me started in bowhunting. Man I'm hooked. I don't know if my heart could handle a big buck!! haha Ican't wait till tomorrow so I can get back out there!!!

RE: YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!! You Might remember me from last night!!!
Congratulations but never just throw an arrow at a live animal, I know it was a figure of speech but I settle a pin and relase an arrow in a precise spot using all the trajetory configurations available out of a highly tuned mechanism that ejects a projectile with such dowward force configured in Kinetic Energies that result in, oh hell, throw an arrow at em...;) Congrats.

RE: YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!! You Might remember me from last night!!!
Great job, Sure is a great feeling getting that first one! I spined one two years ago. She dropped and tried to get back up so I put another arrow in her and then she rolled over and snapped both of my carbon arrows[:@].
Some people havetalked about getting their first one mounted, buck or doe.:) Are you going to butcher yourself? Not sure what a locker charges anymore? after I did a couple on my own, it wasn't to bad. It's when you take them over and drop them off and tell them you want deer jerky, sticks and salomi...you better have the $$ ready! I did take 20 lbs over (they add beef to it) Had half salomi and hald sticks, out of the half sticks, half of them are barbaque.......called today and it was around 80.00, that wasn't to bad I guess. Good thing I won a 30.00 gift certificate to the locker this year at a golf outing:D Congrats, now go get another one! |
RE: YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!! You Might remember me from last night!!!
Well my brother had a 100lb doe done at a locker. He had a little bit of everything I think it was about $100. I think I'll just take my time and do it my self. I can't wait! Gonna be having Backstrap tomorrow night!!

ORIGINAL: davidmil Why do I not believe any of this? Is this Shane? Well my brother had a 100lb doe done at a locker None the less, congratulations, personaly, I hate spining a deer but it does happen, when it does happen expire as quickly as possible. |
RE: YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!! You Might remember me from last night!!!
Well actually spining the deer was probley your best bet that day, Because you may have had a very hard time tracking her in the rain. Especialy if was a heavy rain like you described. So it was probly good you hit where you did.
BUT COngrats on the first and hope theres many more after that one. And yeah getting that first one really helps with the confidence. |

RE: YEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!! You Might remember me from last night!!!
Congrats! The first always seem the hardest.
I went a couple of years without getting a shot off probably due to lack of knowledge of placement, scouting efforts, among other things. I had a friend that was very successful and while I was very excited for his success it did mess with my psyche (sp?) a bit. I was always wondering what I was doing wrong. It motivated me to learn more by others experinces, reading, and obviously learning from my own mistakes. Since my first harvest, my luck has success rate has improved dramatically. It improves your confidence and the desire to learn more and more. I'm just warning you that adrenaline rush doesn't go away with experience and I am sure everyone on here would agree that if it does I/we will probably put up the bows and pack up the hunting gear for good. Sorry for the rambling on but it is always exciting to hear of everyones first harvest as I can remember mine like it was yesterday. Congratulations on getting the first one under your belt and good luck in the future. |
