Not just about the kill!

Going into the season, my junior campaign asa bow hunter, I thought this would be my breakout year. The deer have other plans, I've been out fourteen times and have not harvested one yet. But the time in the woods is truly amazing! My reward at the end of today's "unsuccessful" hunt was a close encounter with a albino and or piebold doe!!! I don't believe tree huggers ever get to see all the secrets nature will reveal to all of us who stay on stand and wait patiently for the mystery to unfold on and above the forest floor. Enjoy the hunt!

You've got that right. This year I've been able to enjoy the fall colors more then any other time. It's a real treat to be able to look for hours in one spot and see something new every minute.

Good post darkhunt and by the way, welcome. Don't worry about it, I hunted 3.5 weeks, missing only 2 evenings so that's alot of tree time. I tagged my buck last evening. It's now starting to really get interesting.

Not just about the kill!
I know this isn't a popular opinion, but uh...yeah, it is. I'm out there to shoot something, period. I'm of course learning as much as I can too, but that's to make shooting one "easier" next time. I can't help it, I need the food.

But I do really enjoy sitting in the woods, it recharges my batteries.

I agree with darkhunt on this one, especially since I am majoring in environmental science/wildlife management. But don't get me wrong I sure love all the meat I can put in my freezer.
