Lone Wolf Climber treestand input..
 

Was thinking I read a thread from some guys about Lone Wolf stands a while back and what guys thought of it. Cant' find the thread. Was thinking the folks that had Lone Wolf had nothing but good to say. Can you guys share your thoughts again??

i like my lone wolf alpha climber. its light, easy to pack and set up. the seat is a little harsh. i use a hunters specialties cushion on mine.

Go to the bowsite.com and do a search there on Lone Wolf.
You will find a ton of posts on Lone Wolf.
I just bought a BigShot Mag and love it but it's too heavy for packing long distances.
I have often thought of getting the Lone Wolf sit and climb for moving from one location to the next.
It's probably the best stand going for that purpose.

Twang, I sold my brand new Summit Cobra XLS to get a Lone Wolf Alpha Climber. The reason? The Lone Wolf is very quiet and folds flat to carry. The traction belt(which is reinforced with aircraft cables) is very tough and grips the tree like no other climbing stands I have tried! You can't even tell the belt has ever touched a tree! As a matter of fact when I first got the stand(bought it barely used) I climbed a telephone pole to test it and show my father-in-law. The sit-n-climb is a breeze to use.

Here is what I did to my Lone Wolf stand......(1)I added 2 teflon washers (6 cents) to 2 bolts to make it quieter than quiet. There is absolutely no noise when climbing and descending. The cam locking system is strong,reliable and very easy to use.

(2) I added footstraps(Summit straps) making it much easier to climb. Lone Wolf doesn't include footstraps.

(3) I added a cheap foam pad to the seat making it more comfortable.

(4) I added the Lone Wolf rubber insert on the built in bow holder.

For me the Lone Wolf fit my needs for a climbing stand perfectly. My father-in-law(who is 64) is buying one because he likes the lighter weight, and the way it climbs. Did I say the Lone Wolf stand is very quiet while ascending and descending? lol

I have never used a climbing stand in all the years I've hunted. I am considering rather to go with the Lone Wolf hang on and some Cranford EZY steps or go with a climber. Bottom line is I need some versatility to hunt this area that's 1/2 mile across the road from my house.

I have used the Lone Wolf Alpha Climber for the last two years and think personally this is the best bowhunting stand I have ever owned. It is whisper quiet climbing and descending the tree as well as putting it on the tree and it is so light you don't know it is on your back. I weigh 235 lbs and was a bit skeptical of this thing holding me when I first tried it, but believe me I have jumped up and down on it even in our late season last year at -10 and no problems. The only thing needed to improve this stand to make it so it could be an all day stand would be the seat. A few hours on the foam pad is ok but all day is out of the question, at least for me.

I just got my Lone Wolf Sit & Climb stand 3 weeks ago & I love it. First let me tell you that I researched every type of stand made for over 8 months & after reviewing all of them I went with the Lone Wolf Sit & Climb. It's so quiet, its light & backpacks so effortlessly, its a breeze to climb with & most of all is so quick & easy to set up & break down. I mean after using it a couple times I was going from the stand on my back to being up in the tree, in position 20 ft. up, in 3 minutes.

The Sit & Climb model is great for bowhunting or gun hunting, it has a camo sling seat that is comfortable. You can use the climbing aid bar as a gun rest as well. Trust me you won't regret getting one.
