RE: Combines & Other Farm Equipment

i always get with the farmer that harvestes the fields on both sides of my dads place and i am always in what i think is a good place waiting for the ambush. and it actually has worked. i would not wait until the farmer is done i would be in or along the woods on the oppisit side of the farmer and let him push them to you.

I like to go out to the field just before they start combining and just sit their till they are done you would be suprised how long them deer will stay in a field with combines going right next to them some times they will stay right down to the last round the combine makes then brake for the nearest cover last fall I harvested a nice doe while four combines finished up a 40 acre sunflower field she ran to my stand then looked back to see what was going on in the field. Big mistake on her part a double lung later and she was down for the count

The best scenario I ever could find when it came to the owners combining the soybeans or grain was to get into the field while he was on the combine. I would set a ladder stand up on the center pivot (irrigation) and just wait until her would finish. The deer really seemed to love going to the fields with all the fresh feed on the ground. I've seens lots of deer this way.
