RE: A Tough Decision, But Proud of It.. (a bit long)
Bud- I joked in a post awhile ago about moving to Iowa...good luck getting your bow in tune, there are plenty of great Iowa bowhunters right here on this board that I'm sure would help you out.
Rangeball- Good luck with the shotgun...and I'd say there are some other females of the two-legged variety that could use a shave...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Bear- I heard a gobble just the other day....now it's time to start dreaming of big toms...good luck buddy.
Luke- I'm a WVU alum...Go Mountaineers! Have you headed out to Coopers Rock? I hunted alot after classes when I was in school and that is one of the states best kept public land secrets. Good luck and if you are ever in Nicholas Co., let me know, I know where there is a slew of does.
Duck- No feathers ruffled my friend....good point, I couldn't get ahold of the front legs so ran the hook off my harness through the tendons on the back legs...made dragging and carrying my bow, stand and pack alot easier and eliminated 3 mile round trip hike.
Good Luck!

Hey Pat, it's good to hear from a fellow WVU alum, well at least I'm soon to be a WVU alum. I am from Hancock County and have never really hunted much while at school. I hunted every day in high school, it's one of the things I really miss, but it's almost over anyhow. I have been to Cooper's Rock hiking before but have never hunted, I had a feeling that I was missing something down here, but it's hard when you are driving a car like I am, a deer in the back seat might leave some overpowering scent, but I hope to have a pickup here soon. Good luck with the rest of your season, congrats on the deer, I have one more chance before the guns blaze the woods next week and I'm lookin forward to it. Take care...

Justin-
Don't let your vehicle stop you....
When I was in school I drove a piece of junk Nissan Pulsar...if you don't know what kind of car that was, think of a doorstop on wheels. Used to take cam straps and bungees and lash them to the trunk lid...the deer where almost as big as the car, but it worked.
Good luck all!
