Archery Turkey Down!!!!!

Took a Beautiful Hen Oct. 20 2006 with my Hoyt and Muzzy MX-4 broadhead. 26 yard shot , never took a step! You wont believe it but she weighed 17lbs. and 8 oz. Check it out on maineturkeyhunter.com . Its' under Rick Willis. The bird was shot in the pouring rain on the day before my B-Day!

Congrats!

I was in the stand deer hunting last saturday and it was raining as well. I also had my fall turkey tag and had three big longbeards come by. One was exceptionally big so I waited and had him at thirty yards in the bag shot.

I shot right over his back.

I was bummed.

Again Congrats!

Could not open the site to see your bird.

Ok this may sound weird to some but really i dont know, When your hunting turkeys with your bow where to you want to hit them? Besides the head/neck like is there a body shot that you can take?

Generally if they are broadside you shoot them where the wingbone attaches to the body. From the front you shoot them right where the beard attaches to the body. From the rear you shoot them right where the wing tips come together. But, just like with any animal, you want to aim for the exit hole.

Up pooper shooter or through the wing where it connects to the body to break it so it can't fly away.
