Let me straighten something out

I obviously offended a few people on here by judging SB Gobblers button buck he killed. I am sorry ifI offended you. It wasn't meant to degrade anyone who happens to kill a button buck. I have accidently killed a few in my many years of hunting. I will personally not shoot a deer until I know 100% it is not a button buck. In fact I only take two does each season. That is my personal quota on does. I am not a jerk nor am I inany way jealous of any deer any person takes, as a couple of you referred to me as being.AsI stated earlier I have probably killed and passed up more deer than most of you on this site. There is no reason for me to be jealous.I have no ill feelings toward anyone who harvests a doe fawn or a button buck. I am a deer, duck, and turkey hunter and love what I do just like most of you. I have feelings toward every animal I take. If you don't then you are not a true hunter but a killer. I may disagree with some of you on some things, but I will respect each and every one of you on the way you hunt and live your lives, that is except for poachers. If you want to kill 10 or 15 deer in a season and it is leagal, that is your choice. Personally 4 or 5 deer is plenty for me and my wife and a few friends. I don't want to argue with fellow hunters. I want to talk about hunting with people who love what they are doing. If I disagree with some of you then I will let you know, it's just an opinion. Again I am sorry if I offended some of you, especially SB Gobblers, and hope everyone on this site has a great and successful season. With that being said, I'm going after the big boy this weekend.

I don't want to bag on the guy but those are some pretty big words when you have a lot of us in here from the Mid West.I amnot saying that the mid west is the best but it would have to rank up there.

Oh yea??? well I have probably killed as many deer or less, than most of you on this site...... so nanny nanny boo boo.

I wanted to keep this reply on an adult level. Pride goeth before the fall.

You are all ahead of me. Especially this year... Haven't been out yet. But I'm getting there. YEAH!!

God Bless.

Damn, I guess I can't do anything right today. It wasn't meant to be bragging or saying I'm better than you. There are a lot of hunters on this site that are far more successful than me. I was just trying to point out that there is no way I am jealous. Once again I guess I said it the wrong way. I just need to shut up. Lets get back to hunting.

Strutter,

I for one accept the apology. One thing that people on this board tend to forget is that differences of opinion are what makes this board interesting. I didn't take offense to the "I've killed more deer..." statement because of the context it was used in. Besides, who really cares who has killed more deer, or less deer or bigger deer or smaller deer? I don't think you will find many people who hunt simply because they want to kill more than everyone else and I'm sure you don't as well. The bottom line is we all have to answer to ourselves. Each of us has a reason we hunt, and each reason is probably a little different from everyone else. We each have standards when we hunt, and again, each persons standards are probably different. The problem with this board (and others I'm sure) is that people forget about the common link we all have and that is hunting. Instead, differences are harped upon, egos are bruised and a gang mentality often rears its' ugly head. Some posters "smell blood" in the water when they see a poster being criticized on the board and a feeding frenzy ensues. I sincerely appreciate the strength that it took to come on the board and apologize infront of everyone for any misunderstandings something you said may have caused. Good luck in your hunting.

Give the guy a break. Some people have a gift with words, some don't. I believe he's being sincere with the appology, even though there was a bit of a faux pas along with it.

I told you on the other thread (my original one) that I didn't have a problem with you.

Accepted, don't mind all the arrogant people on this site, out of all the sites this is the worst for people who would rather rag on you than help or jump on you for not thinking the same way as them or putting your foot in your mouth. mucho mucho mucho. Don't get me wrong there are a few folks on here that are great for helping and answering questions but more of the other kind that make this the last site I ask questions on.

Well I have a question if you accepted his apology does that mean he offened you? If so why? If you read the post(orginal) there was not a thing wrong with it. SBG said so himself.

The line about killing more deer is more comical then offensive[8D]

As for as arrogantpeople, I have fond very few, I have learned a great deal from folks, even the ones you call arrogant.

superstrutter,

It is sad to see when a man/woman steps up and apologizes and no one can see the good in the apology. You obviously meant to be respectful but people, even fellow hunters will always be critical of everything you say. To everyone you offended, they should just have let it go at the apology. Too bad some people have to get the last word in.

Gov't 101...........we wonder why our legislature cannot get anything done.......good example in this post......too many differences in opinions and it shows how hard it is for people to cooperate and get something done.......

funny thing is that is how the system was set up.......
