Impossible or possible?
Anybody ever shoot 2 deer with 1 arrow and recover both deer?

RE: Impossible or possible?
i think under perfect circumstances it could happen. i had to actually from 2-4 deer ribs to ribs a few years ago. kept running into eachother trying to get away from the rifle hunters and i could def. see shooting through one and into the other just need the kinetic energy to do it.

RE: Impossible or possible?
If I see one deer standing behind another then I don't have a shot. I have to wait for one to move. I don't want to wound an animal in order to take another. Its just not worth the risk. Surely if I wait, odds are good I'll have a CLEAR shot at one of them. Now the doe and buck I killed this year were with the same arrow, and I did recover both of them. The doe on 10/12 and the buck on 10/13.
edit: I did sharpen the BH and the kills were on seperate days also, not just the recoveries. |
RE: Impossible or possible?
possible, but like txrookie said, unethical shot. Wait for your primary target to clear other deer behind it.

RE: Impossible or possible?
A VERY experienced bow hunter here in NC duadruple lunged a doe and a button head this year. I know this guy.....and know he wouldn't have wanted to kill the button head. I have no doubts in his story.

RE: Impossible or possible?
A guy told me he did it with a rifle a few years ago. I didn't believe him because he was a bs'er. That is the only time I have ever heard anyone claim to do it.

RE: Impossible or possible?
I think it is possible, but as said before unethical to attempt it.

RE: Impossible or possible?
My friends dad did it with a bow and a rifle in two consecutive seasons. I agree unethical.
