spring turkeys
 

anyone going this spring? what kind of set up do you use? I went last year and sent my app. for this year. might try a blind this year, got busted twice last year drawing got one shot hit a brance three feet in front of the beard so it goes I guess.

66", 54# Chek-Mate Crusader T/D longbow with 28" BOP cedar arrows and Zwickey Eskimo 2 blade broadheads. I gotta get some of the Zwickey wires that go on the shaft behind the head. Some old Camo coveralls, gloves, hat and mouth diaphram.

I will be out there shooting my Browning Matrix behind a blind and using box and slate calls. Nebraska has a seperate bow season that starts March 25th and then runs through all the shotgun seasons and ends mid. May.

yea, I'm gonna try it with my bow for a couple weeks. I've got a homemade blind
that in set up close to roostin sites, and it just happens to be a dustin
site also. I'm also gonna try it form a treestand. I've been lucky enogh to
draw on a few turkeys from my stand, so i might get lucky.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Can't wait for the season to get here! I use an 83# Shelby longbow, 2219 aluminum's and 160gr. Magnus I's. It's an exciting hunt when things go right (which is almost never) but that's what keeps me coming back for more. Good Luck!

I have tried to bowhunt turkeys for years but always seem to end up hunting with my Remington 11-87. Oh well that is the way it goes. One of the guys that I hunt with did take one turkey with a bow, he started in a tree stand but the birds always seem to be able to see you draw up there so he went to the ground and promply killed a nice turkey. Also from having birds in while hunting deer I noticed this as well. I guess that turkeys are probably easier to hunt from the ground with a bow.

This will be my 1st year to bowhunt spring turkeys. I am planning on shooting the 1st with the trusty 12, but then move to bow.
will be using a Q2 at 63#,28&quot; 5575 GT XT, Gold tip gladiator 100s.
Thinking of buying a T2 double bull.

btomlin that sounds alot like my set up Q2 62# 28.5 2213 with 125spittfire gobbler getters I have been looking at the doublebull's too cant decide wich one I want yet though.

I have never just bow hunted for turkey's,I have taken two with the bow while deer hunting.
I am going to try for them with bow this year in the spring.
