I usually check weather.com b4 I go out then on my way to hunting land watch the lakes (waves) then throw thegrass wind changes on ya better hope you don'tstink to bad

Well if I Was in that situation and had another option I would but I understand what you are saying about when you are limited on time and other factors of life. but I do try to keep a back up plan in my bag of tricks

I take the fluffy fibrous stuff from the centerof a length of parachute cord and tie it to the end of my stablizer. It points with the slightest air movement and water doesnt affect it.

A leaf or blade of grass...I see no point in buying stuff that does this when you can pick almost ANYTHING up to determine the direction of the wind.
