typical or non typical dream buck?

im sure this would never happen, but lets say you have 1 buck tag, and a 200" class typical and non typical walk out together at 10 yards under your stand, which 1 would you shoot?

Non typical 200" or Typical 200"

(you dont need to choose between these 2 btw, its just an example)

RE: typical or non typical?

i would personally shoot a non typical, my dream deer would be a big 10 x 10 with 18 inch dubble drops tines on each side.

RE: typical or non typical?

i would shoot the typical, a 200'' typical is much rarer than a 200" nontypical

umm......... I don't know I'd go with my gut. I'd probalbly shoot the one that looked biggest body and rack.

I voted for non-typical...but honestly, two 200" bucks come in to me, I'll prolly take the one that gives me a shot :D

Well i think both of them would look great on my wall but i wouold have to go with the typical i dont know i just think it looks better IMO.

Typical.

I like that clean symmetrical look a lot better than a bunch of junk all over the rack.

RE: typical or non typical dream buck?

Typical for sure, but I'd also love some drop tines, isn't a deer still typical if the drop tines are matching on both sides?

RE: typical or non typical dream buck?

I would love to get both...

non-typical .......cuz ive never shot one

how does that happen any way?

RE: typical or non typical?

I would take the one that was closest. But if the poll would have either one i'd pick either one since i wanna shoot a typical and i also want to shoot a non-typical.

Typical. The more symetrical the better. Unless, of course, we're talking drop tines.......hell, I don't know......

i would have to take the toilet paper out of my pocket and clean up if i saw that !!but really i think the typical is what i would TRY and take.,!

RE: typical or non typical dream buck?

I'd shoot the typical. 200" nontypicals are more common than a nice clean 200" typical.

I voted non - typical as for my DREAM BUCK but when it comes down to it any buck will do.

RE: typical or non typical?

I put typical because of the example shown. If they are going to score the same, typical all the way b/c it actually has to be a bigger framed rack to score it. There have only been a handful of actual 200 class typical whitetails ever taken with a bow. The all time world record is 204 4/8 I think. So, if a 200 of both came out I am shooting the typical.

njbuck22 10-24-2006 11:41 AM

RE: typical or non typical?

I voted for a non-typical cause my dream buck is a main frame 10 point with a drop tine on each side, one just like the Skyscraper buck that one of the drury brothers shot a couple years ago. Now if i had to choose between a typical or non typical like hole int he horn or something like that, i would go with the typical. Nothing beats a big typical rack. I would like it to have some character, but hey im not choosy, just make sure that 200 incher walks under my tree and if i can hold the bow steady, ill be more than happy to put him on the wall.

RE: typical or non typical?

If they are both 200" deer I'm dropping the typical...if the typical was 200" and the non-typ was 300", now that would be a head scratcher.

RE: typical or non typical dream buck?

i like the look of a nice semetrical 200 class typical but it is just something about a 200 nontypical that gets my blood pumpin:D;)so i didnt vote, srry!
