RE: Great start! (Son bags first deer)
Congrats on the deer. I bet he was excited as heck to get his first kill. Don't sweat the shot(s) too much, he will only get better as he sees more deer close up, and gets more hunts under his belt.

RE: Great start! (Son bags first deer)
wow his first time out he gets a deer?? what a lucky kid, i didnt kill my first one for two years, the first two years i went with my dad and we never got a shot and the next year i asked him if i could hunt alone and he could go on and hunt by himself too :eek:and my first hunt in hunting by myself, i killed one.Ive been hanging stands and deciding where to hutn since he just seems to go along with what i say and helps me whne i need it but i have to say i see way more deer when im by myslef and in a spot i picked. It seems like i want to succeed that much more when im by myself.Theres no better feeling than picking the spot, hanging the stand, and taking the animal when youve put the time in
Tell him not to feel bad, my first deer, it took me 5 shots with the old 30-30 to hit the little guy. With only two of them hitting him  |
