here in Arizona you have to have a general hunt permit which costs $32.25, if you want a rifle tag its $42.25 plus a $7 drawing application fee if you dont get drawn you get your $42.25 back, you dont get the $7 app fee. So for a rifle hunt it would end up costing $81.50. for an archery tag they are sold OTC for $34.75 so an archery deer hunt costs$67 in permit fees. Also you are only allowed 1 Antlered deer a year, so if you kill one with a rifle you cant hunt archery or if you kill one with your bow you cant rifle hunt. Yep I know Arizona is mighty proud of there deer as goes for all there game species it aint cheap to hunt AZ to get an idea for you outta state boys and girls multiply my cost on permits by 4 and that will roughly tell you what it costs for non res hunters. the sad thing too is the hunting here really aint that good either. I cant wait to get done with school so I can get back to those Missouri whitetail.

thats kinda chitty to charge ya an extra 7 bucks for being a geezer, atleast here in AZ they give ya old guys a break and even better break if you are a veteran.

I like the $36 bear permit I read a few posts back in Canada.... we don't even *have* the suckers here in Indiana.... you have to get drawn for it in Michigan, as you do elk... not an easy task either.
Way way too many bears in this province. My uncle (retired) was having a bad problem this summer with bears at his deer hunt camp. Him and a neighbor ended up running 8 bait sites, they both killed 2 each in the first 3 days(that area you are allowedto buy 2 permits OTC). He called me up on a thursday night andasked if I wanted toocome up for the weekend and try my luck. Myself and a buddy drove up overnight on a friday. We hunted from 4pm until about 6 pm on saturday, we both killed bears in under an hour of being on stand! Sunday he called a couple more of his buddies up, and they ended up killing 3 more over a few days during the week. They will probably shoot a couple more this week during the moose hunt.
