RE: Chemical suits

My buddy was hunting with one last weekend. He had the British outfit. It was not shiny, and worked and fit quite well. I will be purchasing one for myself for next season. They come shrink-wrapped in plastic (airtight), and I think they are reasonably priced. They seem to be heavy duty and fit him well. He bought two.

I think I'd buy the US military version, but only because I favor that camo pattern more than the British version, but that's a minor detail. They're both good.

Thanks. I think that I am going to get the US military just to support our military. I like the woodland camo on it. It seems like it will blend better with the local Ohio farmland country:)

Just a note. I am active duty Air Force. If you buy a chem suit that is military issue, you will want to wash it. They really load up on the charcoal. If you don't wash it you won't have to worry about camo paint, it will coat you from head to toe.

The British suit is not shiny, BUT... the model described in the ad is the first type I had. It is a pain to get over your head, especially when you have other clothing on. That, plus your face tends to get &quot;blackened&quot; as you pull over the jacket. I have a later version of the British one now, with a zip up jacket. Vast improvement IMO. Of the two you are considering, the U.S. would definitely be my choice.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I had several young deer as close as 5 yards downwind of me this year, and they never spooked. It may have had more to do with their inexperience than the effectiveness of the suit, though.

Avoid the inevitable until it is absolutely unavoidable!
