Nock help.....please.....

I finally got my boys arrows cut and we shot for the first time today and we have a problem. His nocks are really, really tight. So tight that when he shot three of them, the nock stayed on the string and arrow went off target. I have to really snap them on to get it seated all the way. His arrows are Easton Jazz's Can I heat them up to open them up or something? Or Super glue them back on the arrow and wear them in or what?

You might be able to heat them with a hair dryer and open them up some. you could also tie a smaller diameter seving on the string to make them fit better.

I wouldn't heat them and make them loose! All that does is weaken the nock and create problems later on.
I would simply have a smaller diameter serving material put on.
Nocks should fit relativly tight, but it sounds as if your sons are extremely tight.

I agree, different serving, that or try a different style nock.

Reduce the serving diameter or get a larger throated nock. Heating the plastic can weaken it and it will fail prematurely

If the nocks are still pulling out or are otherwise loose, here is a trick for tightening press in style nocks if you don`t want to use glue: Take a piece of sandwich wrap and put it over the end of the arrow, insert the nock and trim off the excess plastic. The tiny extra bit of material is usually enough to tighten the nock and you are still able to turn the nock to tune.

They are Jazz arrows and are pointed where they are glued onto the end of arrow. Do they have different sizes for Jazz arrows?

Check to see if the nocks are glued on. Many times they don't glue the nocks on so you can rotate them for fletch clearance. I know the jazz comes with nocks loose. If they aren't glued on, just stuck on, you can use fletch cement to glue them on.

Do they have different size knocks? I might ride down to the shop Saturday and ask Mr. George whats going on. I dont know if they came with knock on or if the shop put them on. All I know is they are to tight!

I read about taking some emery board and sanding a little out of the inside of the nock to loosen its grip. You can easily adjust how much you take off so they don't get too loose.

Reserve with .020" braided serving. I assume the bow has the factory mono serving on it. The Jazz arrows come standard with the small groove glue on nocks. You can also cut the swage off the arrows, install unibushings (unless the size is too small), and add large groove ACE nocks for tunability. I would reserve for a child's application.
