Mine was a large doe shot at 100 plus yards with a Savage model 99a in .243 right through the heart. Can ya tell I remember it like yesterday. I can still see the huge smile on my dads face.:D

Well... no option for me. I shot a HUGE buck, probably weighed in around 200 lbs or so, and it had no antlers. LOL It had a funky looking lump of hardened mass at the base of his head, where his antlers USED to be, but he had done something apparently when they were in velvet, or maybe had an injury that prevented them from developing properly. He had ONE point coming up from the base of his head, which we were told and had assumed was an extra point coming out (not a browtine). The deer was huge and far outweighed the nice 9pt my husband took a couple of years prior.

My second deer was a 7pt., and my third deer was a button buck.

Still waiting on my 4th, hopefully will fill that tag tomorrow morning.

Shot a 6pt years ago with a Mossberg 20ga. slug. He was coming down a hill towards me and turned broadside at about 40 yds. I shot and he rolled down the hill. I was shaking like a leaf. Waited about 10 minutes and started to get up and go after him. The little bugger jumped straight up and looked at me. I unloaded one more round into him and he ran about 20 yds and dropped. When I got to him I had found out that I had grazed him across the spine with the first shot and temporarily paralyzed him. Craziest thing I thought.I thought he wasdead from the first shot and just shocked the crap out of me when he jumped up and looked at me. Never forget that first deer!

I shot a 8-point this morin at 121yds. droped it and i was huntin by myself and i walked to it and hit it in the shoulder and it was try to get up and i could hear him choke on blood and i pulled up the gun and finsed him off i shot him at 7:00 and was waited for dad for 3hrs in that feild finially he came and gave me a high-5 and threw him in the back of the truck and the work began..

My first ever deer came when I was 15, a doe I shot with a 30.06. My first buck was at 17 with a .30-30, a 3 pt.

My first "recovered" deer with a bow was a doe at age 22 and my first buck at age 25, a 4 point seen here with a Jennings Carbon Extreme XLR.

A much younger Rob/PA...lol Notice, no grey in the whiskers..:D

Borrowed my friends dad's .30/06, shot a 3 pointer and put the buck down on the spot.....I was so happy I couldn't believe it....about 5 hours later I shot a 5 pointer with the same rifle...I felt like I was the most blessed hunter in the world,.,,those same feelings have catapulted me to be the hunter I am today....one that feels that the greatest days on earth are the ones that are lived in the woods, with hard work, and are done with pride.

My very first deer was a button buck, taken with a bow. My older brother was squirrel hunting over the opposite hill and he jumped three deer they ran right by me except for the button buck, why he stopped I have no idea, but I made it all happen with a 45lb Indian deer slayer compound bow that I got for christmas the year before. I HAVE BEEN HOOKED EVER SINCE!!!!!!!! If I had to chose between one outdoor activity it would definitley be bowhunting. I had an accident a few years back and lost my vision in my left eye and hate to admit that I am not to quick with a rifle anymore, just cant shoot right handed cant seem to get the coordination, but my bow aiming is from my right eye and thats still working perfect.

My first deer was a 7 point. I shot it at 3 yards with a .50 cal muzzleloader. I was 12 years old. I was so excited because I had shot at other deer and missed due to buck fever. After that day though I have yet to get buck fever before the shot. Know it comes after the shot. Cant explain it but yeh the shaking and nerves come after I know I made a great shot.

my first was a doe about 100 yds away. shot it with a REM 700 in a .270 WIN. that thing weighed 175lbs. biggest doe ive ever seen still to this day.

my first was a half rack 5 pt. buck. he appeared out of the mist on the first morning right at legal shooting hours. he went down likea ton of bricks and i sat there with him in the sights for what must have been quite a long time because hubby called on the radio and said "was that you?" and i said "yep" and he said "what did you shoot?" and i said "a buck" and he said "how many points?" and i said "i don't know" and he said "what do you mean you don't know?" and i said "i didn't go look" and he said "what are you waiting for?" lol i was afraid he was going to get up and run away. hahahahaha

my first was a doe, it ran up onto me and stopped 10 yards away while i was walking, i couldnt find the crossbolt saftey on my gun and it seemed like forever. i was usin a 45-70 and shot it right in the heart from 10 yards away!

first deer ever was wheni was 12on dec 26 with a shotgun that my dad gave me for Christmas. First shot out of the gun dropped a 12 point buck that ended up scoring 155

i shot my first and second deer on the same day
i set up on my farm we have a stand at the end a slough and at about 7 (daylight) i shot my buck a nice 3x4 i was the first shot on opening day.
i wanted to go see it so bad but my dad made me stay put because he had a tag he wanted to filll also.
so at about 7:45 another buck walked right down the same spot as the first and my dad took the shot at him but it just grazed its neck and kind of stuned the deer he went to reload and ....his gun jams he screwed around with it for about 30 seconds while the deer just stood there. i asked him if i should shoot and he said yea so i did and nailed it from bout 75 yards

it was the best way to get my first and second deer

The first deer I shot was a spike with a rifle. The first deer i got with a bow was a button buck.

I shot a 6-point when I was 13 with my Remington 870 12ga. When I was 15 I got a nice 8-point with the same gun. Still waiting on my first with a bow I'm now 17 and I now have my share of wounds on my record. So I'm ready to kill one this year!!
