RE: Tinks 69
Yes sir it can, very quickly. Depending on which hunter you talk to, the stuff may be expired well before it hits the shelves of your sporting goods store.
|
RE: Tinks 69
you guys ever try to drink that stuff??? i have...its not bad.
|
RE: Tinks 69
Ithink it goes bad as well. I wouldn't chance it. If you are hunting mr. big the smell might spook him. A lot of hunters swear by it though.
Did you ever try code blue? Great stuff. I actually like my tink's over ice mixed with diet cherry cokeanda twist of lime.[:-]:D:DYuck!!!!!!! |
RE: Tinks 69
I think that was the grossest thing I've ever heard. However I've still got mine from last year I'll try and use it some this year. I know where some small bucks are. I'm gonna test'er out. See if it really affects em

RE: Tinks 69
i think it has a fairly short shelf life...less than they claim...cuz sometimes if i dont drink in fast enough it gives me some fairly nasty gas.
|
RE: Tinks 69
sometimes.... i gargle with it when the wife starts witch'in at me.... that way i cant hear anything she says.works great!
|
RE: Tinks 69
The stuff doesn't work in my experience so IMO it is a waste of money as areall theother lures on the market that I have tried, and I have spent lots of $ on them. Save your $ and set up in good travel areas and funnels and forget that crap. Cut tarsel glands off of dead roadkill if really want a lure that will make them stop and check out the odor. HCH

RE: Tinks 69
on the other hand ive had does/buck come right up to it and take a lick.
ive put it on my boots on the way out to the stand and had deer come right under my stand and start licking the foot pegs(no lie)....i just hate wastin such a tastey treat on deer. |
RE: Tinks 69
I believe it doesn't keep real well, however, they state on the packaging it comes in that it will keep from one year to the next if kept at the right temp. I think that's a crock of sh&t!:D

RE: Tinks 69
Myself, I think setting up in a good trail beats any kind of scent bought in the store. Do your homework and you will know where the big boys are.
|
RE: Tinks 69
I tried Tink's, it sometime boogered the deer. I don't know if because it is old or if it's the preservatives addeded to the urine but I could never get consistent results using that stuff. I switched to freshly collected deer urine from a deer farm and believe me the fresh stuff smells different than the other stuff and works much better in consistently attracting bucks and does. We use the products from Southern Whitetail Scents and have harvested some really nice bucks ( including 182 monster) using the fresh urine. we get ours from www.southernwhitetailscents.com

RE: Tinks 69
I believe it's a urine-based lure, so yes it can go bad. When urine breaks down it gives off ammonia.

RE: Tinks 69
im gonna try a new trick with my tinks...im gonna marinade some chicken breasts in it over night and grill'um up tomarro

RE: Tinks 69
I swear by the use of scents and have had great success with them. But... I think every deer in the country has smelled Tinks. They must have a million deer to fill all the bottles Wally World sells. I used a new thing called the Buck Bomb today and had a big 8 or 10 point deer come in like he was on a leash. If I had put a better hit on him I would not have had to TRY and track him down all day. Great blood trail just driedup. Blew him out of bed at about 4PM and there was just a little clear blood where he had been laying. Came out of that bed like a rocket 9 hours after I shot him. I feel like throwing up. Will look again in the AM but that beast is gone.

RE: Tinks 69

RE: Tinks 69
I'm starting to think my SUPER DUPER tinks69 marinade wasn't that good of an idea....everytime i open the fridge to get a beer...that sweet smell of raw chicken soakin in69 hits me in the face like Barry Bonds swingin the bat high as a kite onHGH and PCP mixed together...and i drool all over myself...boy i cant wait to grill these bad boys up!

RE: Tinks 69
maybe it goes bad but i used the a year old gel tinks and it brought in the 8 pointer i got 2 years ago. came in to the gel like he was on a string, no doubt about it. i purchased the tinks at wally on clearance for $3.00.

RE: Tinks 69
I am surprized some of you guys have had Zero success using scents. I have had deer go out of their way to follow my scent trail. Nose to the ground like they were on a string. I use James Valley Gels and set the open bottle out at 20 yards and have had more than one deer stick his nose in the jar.
Of course homework and a good set- up is the way to go butnot alot of deer here and tough to pattern. Most of them eat nothing but browse and mast in season. No beans or corn and such. They might hit a backyard for some shrubs. I say waste $20.00 on a bottle ofgood scent. Just don't get it at a Big Boxstore cause every guy for a hundred miles is using the same stuff and yah don't want tohunt educated deer. I like dumb ones. Phil.. I know a couple of guys in ME. who hunt the big woodsand I used to send them a certain scent. When they were not road hunting (LOL) (Went Moose hunting 2 years ago in Portage)They would use a heavy scent trail thru that God awful brush to bring in cruising deer and they got deer. ME is known for big deer but not alot of them.Email you address Phil. I'm gonna set you up with ajar and you will come to the dark side. If that does not work let me know. I have another method where I tie a bucks Gonads to a string and run around the woods grunting. Rock on and keep hunting>>>>>>>>>>> ;>Whack! |
RE: Tinks 69
I think you may have missed understood me on this one. What I am saying is I have had no luck using Tinks products. I do like using Cronks as it is made here in Me. by a trapping supply company and for me I have had good luck with it. Up here the deer population is low in this area and with the coyte population and poachers you would be hard pressed to find a stupid one here. And yes it is thick here and I have taken three deer over the 200lb. mark over the years. But, now this area is full of poachers so it is hard to find anything for deer except around towns where there is people. I hunt for mine up in the woods though and coyotes take there toll on them as well. Not far from here they put a whole deer yard down on the ice. Most were does with fawns waiting to be born. About twenty three deer total without counting the fawns thought to total around fourty-five deer had they been born. So hunting here is always a challenge. And good luck on your hunting too.

RE: Tinks 69
I did misunderstand Phil. I did not think you used scents and havenever heard of Cronks. Send me their address will yuh. You are the perfect candidate for scents. Not alot of deer, hard to pattern ect. You can bring deer alot closer witha good scent as you know. I can't imaginge you have too many food plots to sit over unless it's a two year old clear cut. Love ME but man those deer numbers stink. Rock on and straight arrows.

RE: Tinks 69
I am going to PM the address to you, Phil

RE: Tinks 69
Rhody,
Dont knock it till you try it,....im also marinade'n some chicken in it right now im gonna grill them tonight(check the first couple pages of this thread) I'll let you and the others know if they are a blue ribbon winner or not later on, and give you some pointers if you want to try this for yourself... |
RE: Tinks 69
no thanks i'll pass on tinks 69 chicken
|
RE: Tinks 69
So everyone, if you don't like the Tinks 69 (for attracting deer, not for marinading chicken[:'(]), what would you all use? I've got a great plan for trying to put the kibosh on some big bucks that will involve dragging a scent rag down a dry creek bed (that acts like a deer highway) during the peak of the pre-rut chase period.

RE: Tinks 69
Well guys i ate my Super Duper tinks 69 marinaded chicken on Sunday night....They were mighty tastybut, about an hour after eating....I started to get really bad gas follwed by some sharpe stomache pains....So i goes to the emergency room to make sure im gonna live...and the doc asked me what i ate and i told him tink69 marinade chicken...and he told me i was a "dummy for tryin that....everybody know tinks69 and chicken dont mix(something about the fatty tissue from chicken and the tinks have a bad reaction)...try it with Catfish,... you'll like that much better" Doc's never steer'd me wrong before so im gonna give the tinks and fish a try next time.
|
RE: Tinks 69
