Hey all, I am one of the misfortunate ones that has been hunting on state land most my life. Man is itfrustrating youthink you find a good spot,there does not appear the be any other hunters near whereyouchoose to put up a stand then BAHM! 1st sit guys squirrel hunting all around,
I don't bait(it is legal in michigan I just don't do it though).
Any how poor me! How many of youout there sucessfully hunt on state land year after year?

fortunately, my family owns land in MO that I hunt but if I decide to ever bowhunt in KS, I think I'm going to have to find some state land to hunt. Have you tryed talking to any landowners in the area to see if they'll let you hunt on their land?

I hunt some state land in northern MI and I've only once seen another hunter and he helped me drag out a buck then loaded it into his truck and drove it to my camp! What I do is hunt pine woods instead of hardwoods. Guys seem to stay away from the pines. Just my .02

I only hunt state land and have had a ew people walk around me. Usually don't see many though. I live out in Western Nebraska so there is not alot of people to contend with.

I don't always hunt state owned land but I hunt almost exclusively on public land so I feel your pain.

Aren't the two the same? Forgive my igorance, but I guess public land is always state-owned around here; otherwise, it wouldn't be public.

I hunt a lot of state, federaland potlatch timber ground. It's all public accessible.
