Massive rubs and scrapes
 

I walked up my back ridge the other day and saw loads of rubs and scrapes. I'm talking 200 or more!!! My question is this---how many scrapes do you think one buck can cover, or make? This amount of scrapes can't possibly be from 1 or 2 bucks, can it? I saw foot around pines chewed to pieces so there has to be at least one monster buck up in there. There are scrapes that are 8 foot across!!! The rut isn't till late here in the mountains of Arkansas and this just doesn't make much sence to me. Unless there are alot of bucks that are all competeing with each other for dominence. What do you rub and scrape hunters think of this??? Plus I didn't smell any urine in a single one of the scrapes so I don't think they're pissing down their back legs into the scrapes yet. Would like to hear some of your opinions on this. I'm here in Arkansas too and just hunted 3 days near Mtn Home

The small bucks are running scrapes. The larger bucks are not from what I could tell. Those rubs are obviously made by a good buck though.

Hunt the heck out of it in the coming 2 weeks, you'll see that buck I bet if you hunt smart

Not only his, but his brothers, cousins, nephews, all the male in-laws, and hopefully 3 generations of grandfathers.....:) Man there's a ton of rubs and scrapes up in this area.....:)

I have the same thing at the place I hunt- I have tried hunting it in the morning and late ay night and I still have yet to see anything, even off in a distance... there is still alot of corn up so only time will tell

I found the same thing 3 weeks ago in IL where I hunt. I hunted there opening day Oct. 1 and 4 bucks came thru. around 7:30. I shot the biggest one at 11 yds. A nice 11 pointer. I would sit in that area a few times if I were you.

Ireally think "most" scrapes are made and visited at night, I said "most", not all.;)
