RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
this is rediculous.... no matter what gene pool you pull from idk how you could manage this hahaha. amazing deer but you can see the yellow tag in its left ear....
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
I would doubt it, that deer is getting more minerals, preservatives and adativesthan what is found in the wild.
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
Some people have too much money and waaaaay too much time on there hands.
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
Which hormones would be responsible for antler growth?
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
good question.... i dont know... maybe its not a hormone... maybe its a protine... any scientist/chemist out there chime in
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
You can see a patch on his neck where he was shaved for some sort of procedure?
Are those the same steroids that Barry Bonds is taking?:D |
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
its possible, but there would have to be something wrong with the deer like a disease, it would never just naturally grow like that with out alot of help.
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
Yea....some kind of gland issue like giants have maybe....but that deer seems kind of thin forhavin to carry all that weight on top of his head...pretty unbalanced ifyou ask me
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
Okay, so where's the second picture, with his head on the ground, antlers buried up to his browtines and his legs dangling in the air? :)
Looks a little top heavy to me, his rack probably weighs more than his body! LOL Talk about back problems, that 'ol chap probably can't WAIT until January to shed those things... women get reductions for problems like that. [8D] |
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
When women get reduction the fellas usually get pretty bummed:((i cant figure out why she would do such a thing:(:()about it..lol
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
LOL, I don't have that problem, so I couldn't tell ya, but I know when I have my wet hair wrapped in a turbin towel on my head, my spine gets tired of holding it in the upright position! LOL I can't imagine if I was sporting headgear like that!
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
im kind of curious who's resposible for an animal like that and what kind of person he is...I know there is a lot of amish folk that breed deer for sale.
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
unfortunately...lol not too many woman do...[:'(]:D
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
I would let it walk, we grow em bigger here in Illinois.... CORNFED! ;P kidding, they are feeding that deer some high minerals
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
I'm no expert but I believe that the genitics have everything to do with the antler size potential. Good diet produces big racks. It looks like they have been doing some type of intervienous injections. Possably vitamins or some other suppliments. His muscle tone appears to be to thin for steriods.

RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
ORIGINAL: Alpha Capo ORIGINAL: DannyD I see we have another pic of the Mark McGwire buck I may have been mistaken. It could be the Sammy Sosa buck |
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
Could it happen in the wild? Sure. If you saw a live pic of the Hole in the Horn, Lovstuven, Atwood, Beatty buck, etc. you'd probably think it was a pen raised deer. It does happen!
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
the bad thing is when we see the picture of that deer a month later without the ear tag saying it was killed under "fair chase" conditions
|
RE: can deer grow like this naturally???
realistically i would have to say no that deer is most likely not going to be found in the wild...(deer of that antler size)....however i have seen some absolute monster from canada that are all wild and not pumped with food plot nutrients.....but, i do think that there could be a chance, maybe....if a deer was injured (fractured a bone, hit by car and still able to live, etc.) and also has some great are with lots of food of high nutrients, (usually near a river or year round creek to keep good nutrients in the plants) then maybe a "wild" deer could grow antlers like that one...
