RE: Things Are lining Up in Michigan
I haven't been to it, but that doesn't mean hubby hasn't. As for Atlanta, my father in law and step mother in law live there, so we get free lodging on 40+ acres that backs up to state land... He found his first elk track on the property this summer, but hasn't spotted any on his land yet.
It's hard to get an elk tag, they only give, what, like 200 out or even less than that maybe?? FIL has been trying to get one for YEARS! His buddy got drawn a few years back and took a nice 7 x 7 that hangs on FIL's wall. Both FIL and SMIL get turkeys every year, but funny thing is, they go onto state land to do it, even with the land they own. I absolutely love going up there for long weekends (6 hr drive), it's so serene, quiet, and peaceful, nothing up there to do but enjoy nature every which way. |
RE: Things Are lining Up in Michigan
Saw some real nice deer this past weekend. They were too far away. I had a large doe and yearling come into my area but they stayed and fed on the grass in the field at 40 yards. Had my bow up but they never presented a shot through the twigs and branches.
Saw a bunch of larger deer and bucks but they were playing out on the field at 200 yards. I finally patterned the deer but thelease ran out on Sunday so no luck on that property. Now I head back to my buddies place to see if I can haul in a bigone there. Tom |
