Ticks

We never really had a tick problem here in NH until a few years ago, but we are starting to see more and more as time goes on. The buck i shot this year was covered with them, is anyone else seeing an increase in the tick population?

Yep. Due to warmer winters w/ less snow. I hate ticks....[:@]

RE: Ticks

I'm in NH too and have seen, in the spring, where the moose scratch against a tree andhundreds of ticks fall onto the snow but not the deer.
These were big fully engourged ticks, I guess it's common for the moose to have many, many ticks.

I remember a bad tickyear - 2003 maybe.Spring time in NH is ticks, blackflies and mosquitos. Probably the biggest reason Ihaven't hunted for turkey.

I haven't seen a dead deer yet this year but I haven't had a tick on me since August either. If I get one I'll look it over and let you know.
