RE: Deer calls
I don't quite understand your question but calls and "can" calls can be used to pull deer into your location when used properly. I'm not a fan of random calling however if you use calling sparsely you could catch a roaming deer that is out of site to come to your location. I usually hold off any calling until I have a visual on a whitetail so I can study it's body language when I call.
Calls can be very effective at pulling whitetails however calls are not an answer all. They work at times and at times have no influence on deer movement. On thing I've never seen however is a negative reaction to a call. |
RE: Deer calls
Now if I understand your question right , yea you should ba able to use a deer call tube or can to call in deer from a far even if you don't see them but you know that they are out there.
Once your ready to ( blind call ) just give three short gunts like a burpping sound and wait for twenty to thrity minutes then do it again until something shows up. |
RE: Deer calls
Thanks for the replies, sorry if the question is vauge I guess whta I should have written is that when I am sitting in the tree, can I just call randomly with either a tube grunt call or the primos bleat can call, to hopfully attract a deerto my location, should they not be traveling on the trail I am sitting on so I can draw one into range so I may have a shot at a deer verses just sitting in a tree very quiet doing nothing other than being one with the tree and staying motionless as posable. Thanks again

RE: Deer calls
The first time I ever used a grunt call I called in a nice buck and I shot it. I could'nt believe how well it worked, many times since then It hasent. I learned later that buck was a roaming deer when I called him. I use calls when big bucks are out of range and I want them to come closer. They work extremely well when deer are aggressive.
