The best climbing stand ever !!!
 

With years of climbing stand experience I found the cats meow in climbing stands and it is made by NON TYPICAL. I use the summit Vipor and love it. I go back to the old Baker and I have the scars to prove it. I have used the API and the new Lone Wolf (verry unsatisfied). I saw it at a show this weekend in NJ my buddy bought one I then tried it out, every stand maker schould be shaking in there boots with this one. It is just awsome, solid in the tree is just an understatement, the seat positions high for bow hunting and lower for gun with a gun and a bow holder it does'nt lack anything accept for its price of $350. But if you can afford that it is great also there fixed stands are the best I have ever seen also thats probably why alot of outfitters use them. They do'nt sell to distributers only direct. I'll be buying one myself at the Harrisburg show in Feb.

Too steep for me. I am waiting for my Summit to come in any day now.:)If I had not ordered the Summit, maybe the Lone Wolf. I found an unbelieveable deal on the Lone Wolf platform today and could order the upper section from the mfg., but alas I am broke! <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

350 seems a bit steep for me.I love my new Summit Cobfa,and at 150 less.

350,a little steep for me,for that I can buy two warren and sweat.
I have used warren and sweat for about 25 years and no worrys here.
it's sorta like a ford v cadilic,ford works for me.

Man, I've got about $350 in my Summit, but I bought the Viper Extreme XL last year, for $250, then bought the Cobra top for $99 this year, so in effect, I've got 2 stands for $350...

Actually, the Tree Lounge with all the bells and whistles will set you back over $700.00.
$350.00 isn't really that bad if the stand is super comfortable and stable.

I saw the same stand at the show big.. Nice but a little steep in price,,I too have a summit viper that I like quite well. So many choices out there.....

It must be real new. It's not shown on their webpage. With the adjustable seat height it sounds an awful lot like the Buckshot climbing stands in which the seat can be placed normal, high or out for sitting facing the tree. It too sells for about $350 plus or minus depending on model. Also rock solid and comfy. Before you buy the Non-typical you might want to compare it to the Buckshot or Buckshot Hotshot(the bowhunter model).

It is new this year they hav'nt even put out an add yet &quot;acording to the rep&quot;. NTs strap ons are awsome too. and they arent too bad in price. They will be in the Harrisburg show so if your in the area you can check them out you wont find them in any shop they sell direct. I agree the price is high but 50 hunting days 8 hours per day on stand thats less than $1 per hour in your 1st year, not bad if you break it down. I work for the Gov. 5 weeks off for hunting and 4 10s per week the rest of the season. LOL

I am always open for new hunting products. I would definately want to try one out before I bought one. I just bought the Summit Python last season and love it. I don't really think $350.00 is too much if you can use it a lifetime.

I just posted a topic....on NONTYPICALS myself. Can you tell me anymore about their hang on stands and rapid rails. I would appreciate it. Out here...Western USA I havent heard of anyone carring the line. I have buddy in Missouri that couldnt say enough about them. I have visited the web site, but would like to hear any info from people that have used them. I am interesed in the hang on and rapid rails. Thanks!

I tried the new climber and I can't say enough. The system is the sturdiest and most comfortable stand I have ever used (I own a Summit Vipor and love it but....)The only problem I have with the Summit stand is putting the elastic strap back around my heels 20' up in a tree I am a big guy so its a pain, I like to get up high but I dont like being up there you know what I mean. I get very uneasy putting the hand climber over my head so I can bend over far enough to reach the straps. The NT has built in place to put your feet so the stand wont slide off. The engineering of this stand is great it has pivoting arms with a cable thru it that really grips the tree. the seat can be placed at 2 different spots high on the climber for bow hunting and lower for gun to take advantage of the arm rests it also has places to hang stuff like binoculars grunt tubes etc. the climber straps to th stand to keep constant pressure on the climber so you can't knock it off. It has a gun holder and a bow holder for it. And it weghs only 19 lbs and supports 275 lbs. It feels like a 14 pound pack and packs alot flatter than my Summit. The stands they make are awsome I talked to several outfitters who use only NT stands for there clients because they fell safe with them. try www.nttreestands.com

Ain't no need for nothin else.

Unless, of course, they make one that climbs all by itself.

Racassasin: Shortly before they went belly-up and changed hands the people at Loggy made a stand with composite arms. It might have been the factory that made the Loggy that did it. Anyway, I bought one at the show in Harrisburg the year they came out. They never did get in the stores. It was called the MasterHunter I believe. I practiced in my back yard. Exactly the same as my old Loggy except no band(composit arms instead). After practicing I took it on a trip to the Adirondacks. The first time up a tree I got 10 or 12 feet up and took a big bite to climb faster. As soon as I had all my weight on the handclimber the composite arm broke dumping me backwards and downwards onto the platform. The platform composites broke dumping me downward upside down. Fortunately I was pushing my safety belt up ahead of me. It snatched me to a halt upside down 10 feet up. I'm hanging there cussing staring at my bow below me. I (with some swinging and clawing with my hands) got up righted, unsnapped my snap ring and shimmied down. It was then I had an on-going war with Loggy for several months. The final outcome, I smashed and cut up the stand so no one would try to resurrected it and took it to the dump. I'll never by a stand again with so much as a bowholder made from composite materials.

Yeah, that is too expensive. I will probablly keep my Summit Bushmaster XL for a LONG time. I love the thing. It is one of the best stands out there, but that is just my opinion.

My Summit Bushmaster and Viper XL's are great, and more affordable. This Non Typical stand sounds impressive, but too pricy...seems to be the big problem!

I am with you I am not going to throw away my Summit Vipor. They make Hummers, vanstall reels, G loomis rods, and guided hunting trips to the mid west for trophy elk, that I cant afford either but I know alot of people who can and walk around with a grand in there pocket just in case. So if you can it is worth the measly $350. LOL
