Yes and no.


My biggest reason for liking it is because I can get the yardages without scenting up my stand site by pacing everything off.
GregH....You impress me more and more over time. That there is some smart thinking. Kudos.

Yes....I use mine when I set up my lock-ons. I can tell you, right now, that my favorite lock-on has trees that I'v eranged @ 14, 18, 22, 28, 32 and 34 yds. I know which ones they are (as a former PGA Professional.....and when I was competing.....I could EASILY tell you my last three rounds.....which club I played on EVERY shot.....and the yardage from which I played each shot, too.....it's just a knack). So....I don't carry the rangefinder with me on these hunts. If I go into a new spot, though......Ill take it and, like others, range some trees to begin with for reference.
