Crazy People

In response to the responses of Lady's post about the button buck. Half of you people are crazy. If you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all. Your negative comments benefit noone! Your grumpy people.

"OnlyBow".....Your homework assignment for tonight is to go to page 2 and read the entire topic "Im Sick of some of you guys!!!!"

Your point is well taken, but there are proper ways to express things here. Enjoy the forums and welcome......but get a feel for HOW to post and then jump on in.

You're new so I won't hand out a "Cyber spank", but if you haven't learned anything by tomorrow I'll hand them out like they were free cheese.

Onlybow

When people present differing opinions in certain Internet forums, cyber-confrontations are not unusual, nor always destructive. Especially if the person is passionate about his or her beliefs. As long as the language remains mildly sarcastic and actual threats of bodily harm are not made, sarcasm and strongly expressed opinions, believe it or not, can be constructive.

Just consider some of the posts as being a verbal swatting of someone's butt with no long-lasting hard feelings.

You have referred to a particular and recent thread where some of us were actually more upset with the gentleman’s carelessness and indifference to making sure he and his gear was performing at the highest efficiency before he started sling arrows at live animals.

Well, Mr. Or Mrs. Onlybow, is that not what you are asking us to address for you in the other thread you started, “Feedback request for a bad shooter,” so that you can use the opinions and advice of some of us “crazy and grumpy people” to show your friend?

I hope your realize, that some of the opinions regarding your friend’s wounding of so many animals might (also) be strong......and “crazy,” and “grumpy” sounding? I suggest you avoid “puddle jumping,” you might slip and get your feet wet. :)

Are you the guy that his hunting buddy has wounded 4 deer this year. If so maybe you should meet up with lady hunter and take up another sport, preferably indoors.

J. Shoot,

Onlybow didn't wound 4 deer. It was his friend, who he is trying to get to stop doing it. Onlybow is trying to do a good thing. We need bowhunters who are concerned with quick kills. Our sport needs large numbers of ethical hunters if it is to survive. Asking one of them to leave is not helping our future. In fact, asking unethical ones to leave the sport won't help, because it won't work. They aren't going to quit just because we ask them to. We need to change their attitudes and get them on our side.

Hey Matt I want some of that frre cheese!!! LOL

OnlyBow I had to read this because I thought you were looking for crazy people for a study, I have volunteered for a number of these studies over the years but they keep telling me that if I know I am crazy I don't qualify!!! The thread you are refering to got way out of hand and if you go back through it read Dakotas synopsis and you will see that the majority of people were not throwing stones.

The way I feel on the matter is that if everyone came here with a big smile and a 'that's ok' attitude it would be very boring and not much would be learned. I am not for intentionaly stirring things, but I am glad to see some people with passion about things and tell it how they feel, without sugar coating it. If I do something wrong in life I expect to be told about it. I've never been one for that 'it's ok you tried hard, you'll get em next time' deal.

Constructive criticism is one thing and berating and harsh comments are something altogether different. The novice hunters aren't going to learn much if they don't come back to this sight and that's exactly what many of them will do, they won't come back. They will however continue hunting and learning by trial and error. That's the sad part to me. All of this information and experience floating around in cyberspace will be wasted because the ones who need to read it will no longer be here. All because some "experienced" bowhunter felt the need to ridicule them and make them feel inferior just to feed their own ego. I hope the negative posters on that thread have there egos properly inflated now.

How many newcomers do ya'll think will read Lady's thread and solemnly swear to never post anything about their hunts (good or bad) for fear of being ripped to shreds?? It's disheartening to say the least.

Some of us are constantly trying to bring more new people into archery only to have these self proclaimed trophy hunters run them off for not hunting the same way they do. Nice work fellas. You should be real proud of yourselves.

See, Onlybow! Stickemups post is hostile sounding and filled with sarcasm. In the same breath, he has engaged in the very action he has just condemned and berated others for doing. However, there is a valid point imbedded within the essence of his post.

Therefore, it is not always what is said or how it is said, what is important is what is meant. :)

WOW! I do not beleive it, but I agree with 2 slightly differing views on a subject!

I agree with Stickemup overall, but I also agree with c903 about the mild taste of sarcasm, however true it may be! LOL
