Read an interesting article recently about why scents work.

TheReader's Digest version is that while estrous urine scents may work occasionally, it is the estrous vaginal secretions that really trigger a buck's hormones.

Makes me reconsider spending my money on scents this year as the majority of the products on the market are estrous urine. The urine will get a buck's attention ocasionally, but not 100% of the time and not for the same reasons as the vaginal secretions.

Cutting tarsals off a carcass is one thing , but I have limits ... [&:]

I mostly use Deer Dander as a curiosity lure , and food scented lures to attract the does . Live does are the finest buck lure I can think of .

I've tried just about everything out there and I had more success with Trails End and Tinks 69 .

Tried most all of them, almost quit using scents then I tried Southern Whitetail Scents products. They collect fresh during the current hunting season and do not add preservatives. My boys and I have taken some really nice bucks the last two years. We don't use anything else.
