Deer activity in Pa. ( first post wiped out)
Started this post a few days ago and it was wiped out by mistake. Would love to hear how all you Pa. bowhunters are making out, as deer movement down this way (chester county) has been a bit on the slow side. would love to know how the rest of you are making out:D

Shane, here in Mont. and Del. Co where I've been hunting I saw only my first deer yesterday! It was a decent 8pt though, but no shot opp. He was actually too close, he came in from behind and to my right at 20 feet, not yrds!It was encouraging for sure.
I went out when that rain stopped around 2:00PM thinking they would start moving. I think it will be a similar situation today, after the rain stops of course.;) |

Here in Centre County I have seen 29 Doe and 1 Button Buck in 5 days of hunting.
Sept 30- 9 Doe and 1 Button Buck and 3 Grouse Oct 2- 8 Doe Oct 3- 3 Doe Oct 6- 3 Doe and a flock of 12+ turkeys Oct 7- 6 Doe and a flock of 8+ Turkeys Now remember this is the part of the state that the Unified Sportsmen of PA claim there are no deer. Well then will someone please explain to me what i've been seeing? Also keep in mind that all of these deer have been seen on completely unmanaged land. |

Deer activity here in Indiana County has beengreat. Saw two shooters so far and passed atleast 2 or 3 smaller bucks every time I have been in stand. Seen alot of "rutting behavior" so far, small bucks chasing does with their noses right to their female companion's back-side, heard mature bucks snorth wheezing, and saw a decent fight between a 7 point and a 8 point. Rubs and scrapes are popping up left and right, and things should really be interesting in a few weeks. My vacation is set for Oct. 20th-Oct. 27th and Nov. 3rd-Nov. 11th :D

RE: Deer activity in Pa. ( first post wiped out)
I have seen some nice bucks already. 3 on the opening afternoon, a Y buck (no brow tines) a big 6, and a very nice 8 that would have been my biggest buck ever, had he presented an acceptable shot. Friday afternoon, nothing. Yesterday, one nice 8 (different property) snuck in before I could get the bow into position. He actually smelled where I had walked in, and was instantly on alert. This despite all rubber boots. I have not actually seen a doe while hunting. I had two blow at me, but they were seen by the two landowners, and not by me. I'm not complaining, but it seems strange that every deer I've seen while hunting this year has been a buck. I wish I could get out with the frequency some of you talk about, but with my family, it ain't gonna happen.
