RE: pic's of my first
Nice baldy Heidi! Where in NH are you located, and who did your taxidermy??
I'm in Hopkinton and have used Perkins in Barnstead and Stouts up in Landaff and have not been happy with either one... |
RE: pic's of my first
that's great! I like doe mounts, it shows you are proud of your accomplishment... even *without* headgear... I heard the antlers don't taste very good anyway. [8D]
BTW, is it just me, the angle of the photo, or does she have some BIIIIG ears? |

Hey Kenman I hunt in Gilmanton and we live in Barrington My mount I have Mike from SunRise Taxi do the work He really does a Beautiful job I asked him for something unusuall and he did a great job Have you ever been to Hotspots in New Durham that's my buddy's hunting and fishing store and Mike has done alot of mounts a Beautiful bear head mount with quills in his face lol maybe if you haven't you can check it out sometime it's located on rt 11 heading towards Alton Bay real nice shop and great guys family owned buissness If your interested in Mike's place for mounts let me know by pm or something be glad to hook you up, he does send out to have dryed so they last forever.
As far as the Not impressed commit well I dont need to impress just sharing is all some think they need to have horns to be something Not in my eyes. To all the rest THank YOU |
RE: pic's of my first
Very nice thanks for sharing
|
RE: pic's of my first
Sounds like we have treaded a lot of the same turf Heidi!! I am originally from Northwood and have hunted quite a bit in Gilmanton myself. Mostly the section of 140 between the school and the jct of 107. Haven't been to Hotspots, but I will check it out...my brother lives in New Durham on Old Rte. 11.
If you wouldn't mind, could you ask Mike if he can rehydrate ears and reset them on a mount. The ding-dong in Landaff set the ears on my last buck facing forward...they look like friggin donkey ears. |
RE: pic's of my first
Good deer.
Great mount. Superb attitude. Enjoy the meat from your first deer. Nothing will ever taste quite the same, and no other deer can take this one's place. Congrats! -Bulz |
RE: pic's of my first
I believe that could be the first doe that I've seen mounted! Great job! It's wonderful that you thought enough of the hunt and that fine doe that you'd decide to mount her. Congrats!
|
RE: pic's of my first
Sure can Kenman yeah that's pretty funny we hunt off RT140 on Gale RD it's down off a snowmoblie rd land owner is wonderful guy.
I sure will talk to Mike next time your at your brother's let me know be sure happy to introduce ya to Hotspots and mike great people , pretty cool talkin with someone from here lol |
RE: pic's of my first
Congrats!! Nice mount, too.
Don't worry about the negative comment. Jesus could post in this forum, and some would tell him that he needs to learn a thing or two...it's just how some stop the feeling of insecurity. Again, job well done.:D |
RE: pic's of my first

RE: pic's of my first
ORIGINAL: wis_bow_huntr not overly impressed but congrats. No one cares if you were impressed. I think doe mounts are very cool.........especially with a buck next to them.......just looks natural. That doe has some big ol' ears on her!! |

RE: pic's of my first
Congratulations!
|
RE: pic's of my first
Congrats from a REGULAR Wisconsin guy. Not all of us are like wis_bow_huntr. Best of luck to you on taking your second this year.
|
RE: pic's of my first
Don't see that too often. I like it.
|
RE: pic's of my first
nice doe.
|
RE: pic's of my first
"quote:
ORIGINAL: wis_bow_huntr not overly impressed but congrats." Wow, why so negative? Anyways a deer doesn't have to have antlers to be mounted. I save the cape from every single deer I kill, and mount it later on. Not because those deer are big ones, but because they have sentimental value to me. Nice mount and congrats |
RE: pic's of my first
That is a big deer and a VERY nice mount. I have never seen that pose before. Congrats.
|
RE: pic's of my first
This is very cool. I love the idea of getting your first deer mounted. It's something you'll remember forever. Antlers are over-rated. Some of the smartest deer in the woods are big old does. Bowhunting needs more guys like you. Good job and thanks for the uplifting post.
|
RE: pic's of my first
Very nice mount. Good work/detail. I love doe mounts. I have two, a young and an old doe. They compliment my other whitetail buck mounts.
|
RE: pic's of my first
interesting mount
|
RE: pic's of my first
Congradulations on a great first deer! Impressive mount.
Was going to comment on the "not overly impressed" guy, but others here have handled it beautifully. |
