Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I have so many pictures of Raccoons at my hunting stands, or should i say Harvesting stands, LOL, that i was thinking of picking up some Raccoon Cover Scent..
Do you guys think that would be beneficial? Or would that be a BAD idea? |
RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I was thinking the same thing. I bought some on Monday. I am having a problem with my deer making a circle around the stand when they leave. I am afraid the first one to do this will spook the rest. I plan on having it with me and just opening the bottle if one is getting down wind. I am going to use it in an emergency.

RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I used it last year and it didn't spook the deer. I haven't used it this year because I haven't seen any raccons around.

RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I have used it every year for the last 12 years and I have had good success with it. Just bought some more for my bag last week!
Good luck and shoot straight! |

RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I have been using coon scent for about 10-12yrs
I want use anything else. Think about it:eek:racoons are everywhere and there a noon threating animal to deer and the scent is strong enough to cover any human scent. Yrs ago I tride redfox pee? I watched a doe walk right up to the trail i walked in on. She stopped popped her head-up and started blowing. I had this happen two or three times after that i startedusing racoon scent i have never not ever had that happen again. Deer just don`t think anything about the scent of a racoon. Its the best cover scent i have used. |
RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
i use to use coon pee as a cover scent unitl I tried freshly collected doe urine andnot only did it cover my scent but it seem to relax the deer under my stand. I'm sold on freshly collected doe urine for a cover scent. i get mine from www.southernwhitetailscents.com

RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
I have never had any luck with any type of cover scent. I resorted to personal scent control.
However, I might be willing to try doe urine. |
RE: Raccoon URINE cover scent??
Yea coon urine will work just fine for covering your trail.
I use coon urine on one boot pad and fox on the other to mask my trial heading in to my stand but once Iget within 100 yards or so I'll switch to a drag rag with Trails End 307 and doe urine on diffrent boot pads. I also spray some Deer Dander on top of my boots and my pant legs up to my knees that way the only thing the deer will smell won't be me . |
