Best tip for Silencing your bow
What is your best tip? Here is mine
Here is one of my favorite tips to help silence your bow. Growing up and hunting public land in Northen MI I learned early to have my bow as quite as possible. One time I pulled back on a doe and my mathews solo cam MQ1 made a ping noise. I pulled a little to hard, and where the cable an cam meet made some noise. She did not stick around to find out what made the noise. I then started to put a piece of mole skin on the cam. Below is the picture. ![]() |

Nifty idea. Gotta love that moleskin. I have it on my shelf to keep the arrow from clanging on the shelf.
I have nothing out of the ordinary. Simms products installed, a good stabilizer and shoot heavier arrows. |

I got a lot of stuff to get my bow as quiet as possible, including: Moleskin on the shelf, limb savers, Fuse stabilizer, Martin Speed Lizard, cable slide sims, and the mini limb savers on the rest. It's a lot of stuff but it makes for a close to silent shot.

My Pearson made a little noise at full draw when the string would hit the cam. Did the same thing. No mo noise.

Man ghemry I thought I was the first one to think of this idea. I did the exact same thing on my Hoyt.I put the moleskin on the draw stop where it touches the cable That noise was driving me nuts!

i used to put rubber bands on the sting in place of wiskers, way quieter but they only last about two weeks and then dry rot. also check to see if your slide is smooth when wet. i spooked a deer one time when my slide popped along the cable guard as i drew beause of the morning dew making it wet. i went out and got teflon roller type guards and solved the problem. also think the limb savers are amazing for quieting the bow.

Keep your string waxed. I can tell when i need to wax it, it gets a bit loud.

Cool idea, I never thought of that, but then again I have never had that type of noise come out of my PSE. But if I do, I know what to do now.
Thanks Good Hunting God Bless |

600+ grain arrow .......... NOTHING will silence your bow quicker or easier and the momentum generated by that change is a + too

To keep my bow quiet I use a variety of things.I have string leeches on the strings. I also have one limb saver on each limb. My Martin bow also comes with a rubber handle and rubber inserts through the bow. It is pretty quiet. So far, I haven't had a buck "jump my string".

Great tip. I use moleskin items too and rubber cat whiskers have brought my Trykon and Tribute to a very ultra quiet level. HCH
