RE: Kill or Harvest?
ORIGINAL: Tbyrnzy82 I think that I would prefer harvest but I think I generally I say that I "got one". But kill is also in the vocab Tim Bobby |
RE: Kill or Harvest?
Hey! I'll say it again.....if you're not "PC".....
...then go tell your daughter what you and mommy do when you're naked in the bedroom. Go ahead, now......run along....! Jeff |
RE: Kill or Harvest?
SB, we get the point. You don't have to repeat yourself a dozen times.
My question wasn't about protecting children from the realities of life, it was about speaking to adults about what we as hunters do. I figured a grown adult would be able to figure that out. I don't know whether you're trying to be funny or if you're seriously trying to make a point, so stop repeating yourself. We heard you the first time. |
RE: Kill or Harvest?
My question wasn't about protecting children from the realities of life, it was about speaking to adults about what we as hunters do. People who use the term "Harvest" aren't any less macho-men nor are they succumbing to the PC, latent-pacifist societal "norms" of today. They're exercsing their right to utilize TACT. Nothing more. RE: Kill or Harvest?
That wasn't the point I was trying to get at at all, SB.
No where in any of my posts did I say that anyone was less macho or anything of the sort for choosing to use the word harvest in place of the word kill. My question was, if you do replace the word kill for something else, why? Is it because of the new politically correct day and age we're living in, or some other reason? Personally, I'll stick to saying kill. I've got no reason to change the way I speak to please anyone. Do you always take the argumentative tone when you talk to people? You do realize how abrasive that is towards everyone, right? I'm not trying to be rude about it, but this is the second debatable thread where you've done it. You're nearly as bad about it as Atlas is sometimes. |
RE: Kill or Harvest?
So tell me.... in Vietnam did my boys Harvest or Kill?[8D][8D]

If you'll read back through the thread.....you'll see that most of the "kill" guys purport to not succumbing to the "PC" crowd......and inferring that anyone that utilizes "harvest" IS. I just can't believe that .....when you step back and look at it......you can't see why the "harvest" term has merit. If my mom called me......I'd likely use "kill". Ditto my bow shop owner. If someone I worked with asked me if we were successful.....I'd likely use "harvest".....until I knew their stance on hunting. I'd ALWAYS use it if I thought someone whom I DIDN'T KNOW their stance on hunting might overhear me. Do I really care what they think??? Personally.....NO. Do I care what they think about hunters as a community?? YES! I just see NO REASON to add fire to an open flame......or blow on an ember to spark a fire that could EASILY be avoided. Have I compromised my manhood or my devotion to the way of life I choose?? Honestly, now......I don't think so. Iapologize if you find this argumentative. I might not utilize as much tact as I preach in trying to show another point of view. Jeff |
