What will help keep the deer away?

Besides the obvious...what can be used to help keep the deer out of residential areas and away from plants and scrubs? Is there a chemical that will keep the deer out/away?

i think some of the commercial sprays are made of eggs-peppermint and stuff found in hot sauce. m ight be worth a try to mix up a batch but i dont know what it will do to all the different plants and shrubs.

I also heard that you can collect hair from local salons etc and spread around the plants you wish to protect and it's free.

I have a friend that seems to scare deer away no matter where he goes. Maybe he could hunt in your back yard...

I too have found my presense in the woods so intimidating that deer won't come near me , at least that's what I tell myself .;)

Liquid Fence. Found at most major hardware chains. Wear rubber gloves if you use it though. The stuff smells awful!

Irish spring bar soap. Grind it up with a cheese grater and spread it around.

Wow this is a post you don't see everyday...how to keep the deer AWAY...I would put myself out in the area the deer are at and have a gun looking to kill one...that usually keeps them away from me...HAHA:D

Would this be the opposite of baiting? I don't think the regulations say anything about repellants. Hmmm...need some irish spring soap anda grater, and then take a walk through the woods everywhere EXCEPT my stand area...that should do the trick!:D
