Great story! And congratulations. Now I have two questions for ya.... 1st I thought Tennessee and Kentucky called 'em hollers. 2nd Does your wife have a sister? Cause I might be getting a divorce! My wife wants nothing to do with huntin. Let alone the part of blood trailing....
Yep, we do call them hollers but I didn't want to confuse our northern brethen. I realizemost are enlightened but others don't have a clue.
Yep, she has a sister and she is our neighbor, fine looking heifer, too. She doesn't hunt but she cleans and dresses all the game that her husband and two boys kill and they kill a lot.

She saw me in the tree and stopped with her front quartering me.

BobCo, I havn't had a deer jump my arrow yet if that's what you mean by her looking at me. And I've also killed plenty deer from that angle.

Just a respectful disagreement which goes against my thoughts, experience and what I have been taught.

Just wondering, are you hunting for meat and in need of it? Or are you like a majority of hunters including myself who doesn't necessarily have to have my freezer filled with venison?

Congrats on recovering her though. Really.

Where are you going with this and why?

Congrats onthe recovery.
I live in Tennessee also.Did it rain any Saturday when you went. It started raining that afternoon hard, Sunday to. I had 3 does and a buck walk about 60 yards from my stand Saturday but didn't shoot because they were so far away. Then Sunday i had another doe walk about 70yrds away. I was hoping i would get my first deer with a bow on opening day, but i didn't. Oh By the way, what part of Tennessee do you live in. I live in Eastern TN near Chattanooga.

Where am I going with this - I asked the question because I'm respectfully trying to understand whyrockytop is defending taking a low percentage shot at a deer that is alertly looking at him.

Why - Because it is important.

Here is a question to you new61375, how do you feel about his shot selection? Would you have taken the shot? Would you advocate to others take the shot from the information given?
