Setting ground blind question.....
There is a heavily used alfalfa field that I will be hunting during October. Right now I usually count about 5-20 deer a night in a small corner of the field. I am just interested in getting a doe and some meat in the freezer right now, but I don't want to spook the rest out because this place is dynamite during the rut.
So the dilema is shouldMAKE my ground blind up this weekend, a week before the opener, or the first afternoon that I go to hunt it. There is not much work, just clearing the 2 shooting lanes that I use, so I am not out in the field at all, just along the edge. ( There is no place for a treestand, and the way the weeds, and trees form together makes a perfect blind) |
RE: Setting ground blind question.....
Yes I would make that blind now so the deer will get use to it .
if your gonna use all natural dead fall and branchs add some leaves or grass around it Good luck and be safe out there. |
RE: Setting ground blind question.....
I agree with RD. Get it up now if you have the chance. Not only will the deer become more accustomed a new object in the field, any scent left behind that day should be gone especially if it rains.
